i just pulled my radiator off to do an engine swap . can anyone tell me the best way to clean it without bending the fins and shine it up a little. thx

I'd just hose it off. They actually do make "fin rakes" that can straighten the fins.

Not to jack, but would that also work on an intercooler? The "fin rake", that is.
I don't see why not since they're mechanically the same thing. Aluminum fins are aluminum fins.HOT97ECLIPSEGSX said:

wouldn't work so well on an intercooler, simply because the fins don't extend past the bars on most intercoolers, and the fins are not straight up and down in rows, they typically go like \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ between the bars.
However:
A set of radiator fin plyers would probably work to correct those issues. Even a flat head screw driver might work if you're careful.

I believe it would. They have different sizes on the same rake I believe.

I noticed when I was doing it that the fins were really fragile and that sometimes I would "over do it" trying to straighten them. I don't think that rake will work on an IC.

i meant to wash it ands get all the shit out from between the coils. some kind of solvent or chemical or spray to use??
