So how low is everybody's car? I decided to take pictures one last time before my car went back to stock height. This is the Tokcio Illuminas with Tokico Springs. They advertise a 1.5" drop on a FWD. That's a total lie! After looking at my measurements, does it look like I only dropped 1.5"??? LOL

Alas, I will be liberated with the freedom to go to any shopping plaza I want, no matter how steep the entrance! No more going over speed bumps at a snail's pace. No more having to go over speed bumps one tire at a time. I will have the new-found freedom to go to any car/tire shop and get onto any lift I want.

My life will soon be changed my friends.

I'm about to get the tokico shock/spring kit, What would you say the drop on your car was?

I'm pretty sure he was measuring the ground effects to show the uneven settling of the springs. I have the tokico HP kit and it settled about a 1/4th inch lower on the passenger side.

Were you able to adjust camber without needing camber plates? Also, do you have any pictures of the car actually lowered other than 4 inches away from the bumper right at the ground. Im undecided between the 1.5" and 1.75".

My camber stayed within spec limits at the alignment shop. I'll see if I can get a pic of mine.

Well the drivers side is a tad higher but remember thats with noone in the car, you add the driver behind the wheel and it should just about level out.. That is the recommended way to balance the 4 corners on a coilover, so you get even pressure to all 4 corners with normal driviing weight conditions.

we are talking about a dsm here. not the best build quality, when it comes to body parts & ground effects. they could be loose & sagging or not installed at the exact height on both sides.

thats why your supposed to measure from the unibody.

actually one thing me and friend noticed about tokico shocks r how short they are. I guess they designed them for lowered vehicles. two of my freinds got prokits with blues and thier cars r extremely low for prokits. The shocks loweres the car about 1/4 of an inch then whatever springs u r using also lowers the car. my other friend got the tokico kit with springs and shocks and the car is so low all the wheel r tucked in. U can't see the wheels when u r either in front or behind the car.:eek:

anyways i got my tokico advance handling kit (illuminas 5-ways and tokico springs -eibachs?) on and it really wasn't much of a drop at all! it really was only 1.5". Did you use the spring with an F up front and the spring with a 'R' on the rear? i have 2 finger spaces up front of wheel gap and 3 on the rear. looks better and handels well so far.

i got mine used, so i assume they are broken in.

Is it true that the springs will compress completly before you hit the bump stop if you cut it in 1/2 per tokicos instructions? it deffinitly looks like it. right now i got the whole stop on there but was considering just removing it all together and hope i don't bottom out too bad.

i will say this, my 3" turbo back (under the axel/rear frame) scrapes alot more, i mean its really close to the ground!

let me know about the bump stops.

I have the same setup (Tokico Illumina's and Tokico springs) and it lowered the car exactly the same all the way around, which is a tad over 1.5" for my 2G FWD. I love them and I'm extremely happy with them. I have heard about these springs dropping the car much more than the advertised amount, but mine are perfect.

Thats exactly how my car looked after the install (minus all the red and with gray rims). I think it improves the cars looks and is a good hight for a daily driven car.

i just installed tokico gas shocks and eibach sportline springs and noticed that the front driver side is about half an inch higher than the passenger side. ( Passenger side:1 and half finger gap/ Driver side: 2 finger gap) does it have to do with the installation.? Please help, thanks.

When did you install them? They usually need about 2 weeks to settle in.

really?? i hope so because i just installed a set of tokico hp shocks and tenzo springs and the front is a lot lower than the rear end. i love how it dropped in the front but looks a tad bit funny when the back end is higher.

lol just wait a little and you will see that they come lower after time ! you will be happy that they where not much lower !
for the back higher remove your front bumper protection, a/c and move the batterie in the hatch ...
this will help :rolleyes:
