Also, on Trans am's.. All WS6's are Ram air like partemisio said, but not all trans am's are WS6's.. The easy way to tell the difference between 93-97 and 98-02 t/a's is the front bumper and hood..
Yeah but WS6 was a suspension package. Some/most people think the WS6's make more power than the non.

My buddy has a 94 LT1 Z28 and it ran low 11's at 117-120mph with a bolton Vortec blower all day. Completely stock motor. That's on ET streets with "easy" 1.7x 60 foots. They have potential..even the LT1's.

A full built LS1 should easily make 400rwhp+ and be a beast on the highway. Not to be underestimated at all.

Good Info. :)

Most people have this misconception that the WS6/SS were faster than the other models...not true. An LS1 is an LS1... some optional upgrade packaged cars had a lid/catback from the factory but the fastest times produced by an F-Body were done with a stock Z28 (12.89 @ 108mph on a 2.1 60ft) and an SLP SS (12.96 @ 107mph on a 2.1 60ft)

Cheers

I have two friends with LS1's and they both have upgraded the cam, headers and exhaust and they both of these cars on the dyno have put down over 400hp to the wheels after being tuned. The only way to find out is to fix your problems and try it agian, and see if you can destroy him.

H/C cars are breaching 500rwhp now... Cam only is easily 400rwhp if you pick the right stuff..unfortunately a few people out there still pick a slightly bigger than stock cam (LS6 cam still gets thrown in a lot of cars) and make under 400rwhp...not completely surprised to hear of one below... but that is with a light bolt on car...doesn't sound like this was a Full Bolt on (had to be missing a few... LOL).

Someone else nailed it on the weight... Hell look was I got done with only 305hp at the crank. ( ;);) )... Er...I mean wheels.

Some friend of mine that lives down the street and he said he is going to do an lt4 kit to his lt1 z28. I'm not really sure what it is but HE claims that he'll have around 500 rwhp all motor. I'm not sure about this though so please correct him if he is wrong. He always talks shit on my dsm though. When I was stock he would talk about how he would beat me. I took him for a ride in my car when I got the 50 trim at 21psi and he said that he won't race me until he gets his "lt4 kit". I guess I'll be needing a gt3582r!!!:D

LT4 kit is weak sauce... I ran a CC306 on stock heads and was only around 350rwhp... The LT4 cam itself is barely bigger than factory and the heads are far from optimized....not to mention the LT4 package only makes ~300rwhp so I would say the guy is full of it.
