Hey everyone, I just got some work done to my BBK 75mm Throttle Body and I thought I would share some of the work.
First off, I knew that I needed some sort of ADAPTER PULLEY for the throttle cable, since the mustangs use a lever style. This pulley was made so that I could remove the ball end from the mustang and bolt on the pulley, with the drilling of additional hole for the other bolt. The diameter of the pulley is the exact same as the stock one and the surface where the line runs along is radiused as well.
Next up on the list was the THROTTLE BODY SHAFT BUSHINGS. They are machined too loose from the factory causing boost to leak through them. They are metal bushings unlike our stock o-rings. To combat this I replaced this with bronze bushings machined to a tighter tolerance.
The stock SPRING on the throttle body is way too weak for our cars. We changed out for a custom spring we had made after testing a few from local stores.
Due to the bead on the BBK being rather small, which is fine for non-boost applications, but not for us, we decided to make a SUPPORT BRACE to help from blowing off hoses.
The last thing I did was to get an ISC ADAPTER PLATE made so that I could run the stock 1g/2g style ISC with the mustang throttle body. I know people have had trouble with their idle before if they don't have AEM. I will get pictures up of that part tomorrow, hopefully these parts can help those who have had the same problems.
I don't know if this interests any of you guys...but if it does, post up and I can see if I can get more made.
