Take it apart and clean it well. As long as the spring isn't rusted too bad or broken you should be fine.

Either that or invest in another JoeP..................... At least you know you will get your money's worth.

Which do you think is better? Joe P inline or the basic Joe P MBC XZ? The inline is only a couple bucks more, but I'm not to worried about it being stealth. Which one is more reliable? I'm wondering if it might lose some reliablility with it trying to be SO small. I will be ordering one within the next few days and would like some opinions.

OK guys, let's break this down.
A ball and spring boost controll is as far away as a good hardware store.
I bought the pieces for less than $8.00. One brass T, one brass plug, one nut, one spring, and screw. Two each of: nipples, and SS balls.
It did require drilling a hole in the brass plug and threading it for the screw but that is simple.
Pressure from the intake pushes on the ss ball through one nipple, loading the spring aganst the second SS ball which is held in place by the screw through the brass plug.
When pressure is sufficent to offset the ball, manifold pressure is allowed to go to the waste gate actuator through the nipple 90 deg from the first and open the waste gate to control boost.

Afraid to go WOT on ice? Pfft, quit being a pansy.

As of tomorrow, it will be exactly one year:

*MyBoostedGST - I have had two XZ's in the past 2 years and they work perfectly. However, a buddy of mine has the inline an it is a much cleaner design. For $5 more it is a worthy option.

Thanks Josh. That's most likely what I'll be going with then.

I was actually going to remind them of what happened last year to you. But didn't know if it was a sore subject with you or not. Just make that be a reminder to drive carefully and even more importantly, smart.
