I was wondering if anybody had any experience with Dropzone coilovers. The ebay link I was looking at doesn't specify if it is for FWD or AWD. After research, I have found that the only difference between FWD and AWD is the spring rate (AWD will sit lower with FWD springs because it is heavier/FWD will sit higher with AWD springs because it is lighter). They are only $300 shipped, but I do remember others in the past using them. As long as they will work, I am going to bite the bullet and see how they are.

But there is no way that I am going to spend $600 plus on a suspension setup when I will not be making enough power to truely use it's full potential. I would like to get something used, but no one is ever selling anything.

If you search local forums or just wait a bit you will come across some cheap lowering springs. I got mine for $75 and they are for an awd.

I wouldn't bother with those. They're junk to say the least. Trust me, you think now you won't be using the suspension to it's full potential, but once you get some quality suspension you'll definitely be happy.

I saw these same ones on ebay today and was also thinking of buying them but thought I would ask the experts first. Why are they garbage, got a reason instead of just saying they are crap. Also all I want them for is to drop my car and be able to raise it whene I feel like it.

I agree, it's the higher end Tein stuff that is better, not their lower end springs/coilovers. If I went Tein, I'd get the FLEX.
If you want Type Flex you better buy a 2G. 1G application is SS only.
What makes you say they are not of a high quality? Have you ever used them?

And yeah, don't buy dropzones.
Hell if your on a budget and just want a dropped look, at least go with GR-2's and Megan springs. (less than $400)

Hope you find the right setup.

I have heard of the coilover sleeves breaking on the cheaper ebay units.

Don't risk your life, stay stock if you don't have the money.

I got a set of NEX GT coilovers, they are a good economical setup.

The low end Tein coilovers are not worth the money IMHO.

And be sure to check the spring rate of what ever you buy.

A well tuned suspension really has nothing to do with power output, you are probably going to be upgrading springs and struts for cornering, or in your case, just to slam the car to the ground. Dropzone stuff is junk, they have some decent struts, they are way stiffer than the oem's, but the coil over setup is TRASH.
