Ok i am not sure if i am posting in the right forum. But here goes.I was wondering if i can put 19 inch rims on my 1st gen? What size tires should i go with?225/35 or 255/40?:confused:Do i need to roll my fenders? Now to the people with their panties in a bunch ive searched and searched with no diffentive answer for 1st gens.So people with straight answers please. And i know,i know why 19s because iam running turbo and i dont race. Why not look nice will driving.Thanx ahead of time.:tat:

Oh sorry almost forgot i have not dropped my car what so ever.Pics in profile.

I can say for sure, but you'll need to run such a low profile tire that you'll risk bending those for sure on the first pothole you hit. Check tirerack.com to see if their plus size calculator will give you the proper tire size for 19's. It will be considered a +3.

Silly to put 19's on the car, but hey it's your car.

Just curious, how low profile is dangerous? I ask because last night I hit a pothole on the expressway and blew my driver's side front tire. I was going 65, and luckily the rim is fine. My 17's have 40's on them...

19's on a 1G = RICE!

End of the fucking story.

Even 18's look big on a 1G. This is what my car looks like with 17's which I think is the BEST size for a 1G.

I run 40 profile myself and I still worry about bending my rims. I hit a decent sized rock in the road and it bent my rim. Really anything lower than a 40 I'd begin to worry.

As for the unnecessary comments. I really find this to be an unnecessary post because if you did your own research you could have answered your question. With 2 minutes of searching I've determined that a 245/30-19 would fit. You'd need a proper offset.

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
205/55-16 4.4in 12.4in 24.9in 78.2in 811 0.0%
245/30-19 2.9in 12.4in 24.8in 77.9in 814 -0.4%

If you want to know if they fit, buy some and put them on funny guy.:chair:

Well it will be the first time a 1G dsm is on DUBS. LOL. but seriously..... WHY? Have you considered rotating mass, ground coverage, weight, ect? Your car will run so off and awkward.
I may be mistaken, but don't dubs refer to 20" wheels? You lose. :chair:

OP, get something smaller for your 1g.

I once met a guy a few years ago with a 91 TSi awd. He had some 19"s on it.
I believe they were only 7" wide. It always seemed like a Pyrrhic victory in the looks department to me.
Even with the slight drop he had on his car they still looked humongous.
Take into consideration the cost of 19" tires compared to what a 17" tire costs.
I bet the cheapest quality 19" tires are around the price of top quality 17" rubber. Again it is your choice. Just some food for thought. :)

Dubs are 20s.My car doesn't look rice.Check my pix.But i've searched the actual largest size rim and tire that fits dsm cars is 225/35/19.Thanks to tire rack. Thanks to you too red.But this is the deal i got the rims for $200 dollars and i got 2 tires Pirelli eufori for another 200 buck for both.

Diambo so touchy did someone with big rims hurt your feelings.Aww.LOL.So mad.Nice but iam sure you have dropped it.But even that my boy has 18s on his and he has a big ass gap in the wheel well.

Well here I go with my .02. When I had my 1g nt project car I thought about putting 19 inch 5zigen corpse's on it. The only issue I had when I tried to fit them on is that the rear shocks won't allow you to go that big and tend to rub. So I opted for 18's instead. On a 2g I've seen dubs as well as 3g's. I had a club member that rocked a set of 20 inch Konig tantrums in chrome. That looked bad as hell!

Why is ok for 300z's to rock out to 20's or 19's but with dsm's its rice?I bought the rims and they dont rub what so ever now iam waiting on the tires because the tires that are on them are bad.Soon iam gonna paint them. Not sure what color though.hmm.

Yeah, but Z32's aren't DSMs......
And, yeah why don't you flip those rims on like craigslist and buy some upgrades for your car?

BTW, they make lowering equipment for our cars, AKA wheel gap killa.
