So after taking my 1995 eagle talon tsi FWD to a local shop to get the error codes read the mechanic said that he needs to find the specific port location. He said that besides the OBD2 port every car has a second port that is specific to the car make. Anyone know where it is located?

the OBD2 connector is under the driver side near the pedals. What is he talking about finding a 2nd port and why ?
Thats what I was thinking. All OBD2 connections should have 16 pins. Most of the time located on the drivers side under the steering wheel. Are you sure he is a trustable mechanic?

I know exactly where the OBD2 Port is. I am looking for the manufactor specific port? The mechanic said every car has a port that gives specific data besides the OBD2 Port. He even had a special connector he showed me that would go into it?

Find a new mechanic, he's lying or doesnt know jack shit. Our cars have one obd2 port, nothing else.

98-99s also have a flash port next to the OBD2 connector.

There may be a second port for the TCU(Transmission Control Unit)
I don't have an automatic, so I don't know.

I'm almost 100% sure that the Anti-Lock Brake and Air Bag computers are accessed through the OBD2 connector.

What error codes are you trying to read?
