On Jan. 2 I dynoed my car at Church's Automotive. My goal with this turbo was 300whp/300torque and I got it on 96ish octane (101 mixed with 91) and 23 psi.

Numbers were:

317whp , 338 torque

some crank figures could be
assuming 12% drive train loss...360 hp
assuming 15% drive train loss...372 hp
assuming 17% drive train loss...381 hp

I have no intentions of drag racing (traction is an issue...fwd) or auto cross (too heavy and not modified for handling).

A very concise list of my performance mods are the following: MHI Evo III 16g turbo, apexi 3 inch turbo back, greddy profec spec s EBC, ported Evo III exhaust manifold/o2 housing, FIC 650cc injectors, Apexi SAFC 2, Walboro 190lph fuel pump, HKS 272/272 Cams, HKS SSQ BOV, Dejon Tool 3'' Intake, ACT 2100lb Clutch, Flywheel (12lbs), ETS Intercooler, Autometer gauges, AEM AFR guage.

You should push more than 317whp with your setup. I once had a similar setup but no cams, I pushed out 356whp at 22psi on pump gas 94. Im FWD also.

any idea whats going wrong? is it the 190lph fuel pump?

I would say get at least DSMlink. If not also a rewired 255 and afpr.

I have the 255 fp. I think it's based on fine the tune is. Did you tune it or the shop tune it? I tune it myself.

I tuned it myself with just an AFR guage and SAFC 2, then I took it into the shop and fine tuned it.

I dyno'd 323/324 on 93 octane on a very similar setup a couple years back. Id say your right about where you should be. You can only go so far when you cant control timing.

A few things..

The power band seems to drops pretty fast, even with those cams you have.
Also is this a tune without knock, and no pulled timing? Your dyno graph lines doesnt seem that smooth in torque nor hp.( squiggly?)

You were mentioned drive train loses, me personally i dont think your drive train percentage should stay the same when your increasing power, but maybe actually decrease.

I see it this way, if your drive train robs 40 hp when your stock, then it should still only require 40 hp when your making 500 hp....
And i believe on a AWD 1g it is about a 40 hp lose in drive train according to something i was reading with a stock 1g dynoing.

Not so sure the drive train lose of a 1g FWD.

Also every dyno is different and could show a difference of even 40 hp from one dyno to another despite not changing anything in your set up...
So unless two cars were dynoed the same day and place , its hard to really compare results.

I think your numbers are decent for a rough pump gas 16g w/ cam set up.
Im sure you could squeeze another 15 more hp out of your current octane with more bolt ons and better tuning, but decent numbers nevertheless.

Good job.

Drivetrain losses are always a percentage of crank hp. The more power you make, the more power the drivetrain robs since you're trying to accelerate it faster.

Good numbers.
