My neighbors boyfriend owns an SRT and we get along really well being motor heads. He works at the Renfrew Dodge Dealership so he gets stuff for his car real cheap. He has quite a few bolt ons not sure of the whole list but usual like intake and k&n and boost controller set at 15psi (spikes to about 24 ha ha) and he has about a three foot straight pipe and HKS SSQV. The car is pretty sick and he was in the low 12s last season at race city when he was running 20psi. So thats a bit of background on him.

We have been talking about having a few pulls for a long time and so we decided to do it the other night...

Race #1
We went from a dig and off the line I took him by a car and a half or so and kept pulling slow up to about 200 with about 5 or 6 in the end.
We pull over and hes like damn AWD with launch control ha ha. So he says lets go from a 40.

Race #2
Rollin at a 40 im in first gear just rollin and he is in second brake boosting. On three honks we go and he pulls a bit because of being in second and brake boosting and when I shifted to second I flew by him and kept going but stopped after a bit becase was so far behind.
Pull over again and he informs me that he missed third ha ha so we went again.

Race #3
Same deal.. Im in first and he is in second brake boosting. He honks three times and were off. He pulls about half a car all the way up to top of second and when I finally grabbed second I started reeling him in... banged third and pulled ahead with about 4 cars or so up to 200 again.

He was a little dissapointed that I beat him but then again his 50 trim set up with all the goodies just arrived wednesday and he is at that swap as we speak. So i am faster... for another couple weeks ha ha .

And this went down about 20 minutes out in the country by where i live at night so there were no other people around.

The silvia was not much to race. Word going around Airdrie was that this guy put down 400 to the ground... so when he passed me and vented right in my window I wanted to test the rumours...
We ended up at a light with me behind him. The light turned green and he pulled away nicely then hammered on it so I slammed it back into first and banged the redline and shifted into second. I switched lanes to get beside him and pulled up to 110 just fresh in third. He slows down so I did the same i got up beside him and down shifted and went from a 40ish roll. He just took off not waiting for a honk or anything so I was already behind... shifted into third and evened it up and grabbed fourth and pulled ahead of him about a car or so and he shut it down. I waved him over cuz i wanted to talk to him. His car is not quite 400hp (not sure what they are stock..?) but he said its got a boost controller, 3 inch borla exhaust, injectors, and high flow exhaust mani and greddy type rs BOV and some more goodies. He couldnt tell me them all.

Haha ya sorry thats km/h. My mods are: Big 16g, precision 680's, Aeromotive AFPR, 3inch Buschur turbo back (no pussy) with magnaflow muffler, Buschur stage 3 head, HKS 264's, MBC at 15 (spikes to17ish), SAFC for mild tuning, B&M short shifter, Injen intake with K&N, keydiver chip with launch contrlo set at 4500rpm, ACT 2600, lightened flywheel. Thats all I can think of its too late to think staright haha.

Thanks for the props! I think I would have done better if I had done the same as him and gone with second and brake boosting from the roll. His 50 trim swap is well on the way. Im helping him as I can. But man do those little cars have a goofy ass looking tiny turbo...

Buy my car is currently up on jack stands cuz the tranny decided to take a shit all over the road cruising along at 90km/h. Clutch fork broke and it went down hill from there...

Im about half an hour North of Calgary. Assuming you know where that is ha ha! I cant wait to run 20 psi. My motor is built so I could run that much boost or more but I only am tuning with safc and am getting alot of knock issues that I need to look into first... Any ideas? I played with the CAS a bit but without much improvement.

Right now the amount of knock I'm getting with only a big 16g is the number one thing holding me back from the 35r build. And trying to choose what stand alone to go with...

Thanks for the props guys! I know my current setup is capable of a fair bit more but with safc I'm limiting myself.

And I agree. It dont matter how fast those cars are... they are still a neon...:D

Haha i'm glad you agree they are still a Neon, I have a cousin who is saving to buy one because he think's they are the best thing he can afford. Keep telling him buy my car so i can get AWD :D

Thats so weird the trubo feeds right into the intercooler...

On a different note there is a huge mistake on the mod list on the sylvia. This is a copy and paste from my local forum where i posted this too. He came on and corrected me. I asked him what his mods were and when i was typing this up a couple weeks later i asked a buddy who supposedly knows someone whe "knows" the car well... Never trust third party... :)

I am the owner of the Silvia... badges are not on yet. I just want to clarify a few things. I am nowhere near 400... I wish! Kind of a cool rumor to have going around town but I honestly don't know where it came from! As we were side by side I held it in second for sure! Boosters know a 2nd gear roll is a good start!

I did slow down because I learned my lesson when I was young... I lost my liscense for a month due to street racing back in the day... so yes once I get close to excessive speed limits I definatly back off. I am older and unaware of the honk rule! lol After the cop passed us I held it waiting for a good jump from a roll. After holding 4000 for about 10 seconds I decided to stomp. He pulled ahead because I backed off... his car is fast. The closest thing to a real race I have had since my car hit the road with the new SR20. We were side by side so evenly it scared me! I had fun! That's why I pulled in behind when he pulled over. I had to say hi and talk some car talk!

My car is running 220 stock at the fly. I don't have a borla exhaust. I have a tanabe downpipe, megan cat delete test pipe and an Apexi N1 Evo cat back. All 3 inch. Stock exhaust mani, stock T28 turbo and stock dump pipe. Greddy FMIC and open filter to the turbo. I run stock 7lb boost for now. Boost controller is still sitting in my room in the box. Stock injectors and stock fuel pump. I am hoping to have 220 at the wheels but it has yet to roll on a dyno.

Secret street should be fun this year. Once I get a boost guage I will install and tune my Profec B.

He seemed to be a pretty good guy but its a nice car thats for sure!!
