Right now my car is in the shop and they are trying to figure just what the hell is wrong with it. Right now it has the mods that are in my sig. I need to know what to do first when i get the car back and running. Fuel pump? exhaust? injectors? I want to be able to run my 16G daily with no problems. Few races here and there. I DEFIENTLY DO NOT want to go lean. It is a stock boost setting right now. I will have to drive it while im doing the upgrades. Please give me a list and in what order i need to do. Average prices would be great as well but i can always find those my self. Thanks

Jesse

1) EGT gauge - $200 for a nice peak hold one

edit: add boost controller here

2) BOV - $200 turn up the boost and watch your new EGT guage
3) IC pipes upper and lower- $100-200 better turbo response and flow
4)Fuel pump - $100-150 More fuel and add some boost
5) S-afc and injectors- $700 Tune more boost
6) Porting mani and o2 -$free to $200 more flow and no boost creep
7)FMIC - $1000 MORE BOOST and more power...=)

There's no reason for $200 BOV on 16Ged street-driven 1G, just crush the stocker... :D I'd do the exhaust (2,5-3") first. Then EGT gauge and digital A/F gauge, fuel pump and boost controller. Next would be UICP, ported 95 manifold and O2 housing (assuming the 16G is ported as well), S-AFC and bigger injectors and finally FMIC (I wouldn't bother with the LICP for the stock IC). Sooner or later you're going to fry the stock clutch and ACT2600 or Centerforce will be in order. You could also adapt the 2G MAS, get webcams and consider suspension and brakes upgrade and 4-bolt rear end. There's always something... :D

NEXT THING FOR SURE IS THE EXHAUST THEN LOOK IN TO GETTING A/F GAUGE AND AFC. AFTER YOU HAVE THE AFC GET A BOOST CONTROLLER AND TURN YOUR BOOST UP A LITTLE JUST BE SURE TO COMPENSATE WITH THE AFC. AFTER THAT THEN GET YOU FUEL PUMP AND INJECTORS AND EGT.

He doesn't necessarily need a S-AFC to turn up his boost, with the rewire he should be able to turn it up a little, then with a pump he should be able to go farther.

??

Thanks for everything so far. When you say O2 housing are you meaning one from a 95 as well? Will my stocl one bolt up to a 95 mani? If I have a 95 mani fold and O2 housing will i have to get a 95 downpipe to make it work? Sorry for all trhe questions. Im still trying to learn.

Thank you very much.

The O2 housing doesn't bolt upto the exhaust manifold but the turbo exhaust housing. 95 exhaust manifold is less prone to cracking and is easier to port to match the 61mm gasket. You'll need to port the turbo exhaust housing as well, though (to get the most out of it). The 95 O2 housing is much bigger (inside) than the 1G housing ('though you can port the 1G O2 housing as well, but it takes a lot of work to open it up to the size of the 95 O2 housing). You don't have to worry about the 95 O2 housing bolting onto the stock downpipe 'cause at that time you should be running full 2.5-3" exhaust (putting on a ported 95 manifold, ported 16G, ported 95 O2 housing - and having the stock downpipe and exhaust doesn't make much sense. Do the exhaust with test pipe first...) :D

Datalogger

Set boost to about 15psi, datalog the car. If you don't see at least 22^ of advance do the FP rewire. If you still don't see 22^ turn the boost down, test again, repeat untill you have 22^ across the board. If you see more that 22^ turn up the boost.

At that point stop. Are you fast enough? If not, learn about your car and moddifications. Only you can decide what to do from that point on, in order to make educated decissions you need to know what the mods actually do and how to support them.

The above is really basic stuff and if you see 22^ of advance on your logger you will be running efficiently and won't have to worry about blowing up. After that any mods are the "next level" and you really need to know a lot to take that step or you will be slower or blow something up.

Right now my order is as follows. Tell me if this sounds right or something just ber before something else.

1. Full exhaust from 95 manifold back to catback with test pipe.
2. EGT and AF gauge
3. Fuel Pump
4. boost controler
5. UICP
6. Port what ever needs to be ported.

My first question is will this work good?
Next what times should I expect with some decent launches?

Thanks, Jesse
