Hey guys, was wondering where to start checking for this ... my e-brake light has been constantly on for a long while. Not a big deal because meh it's just a light, but i figured maybe i should fix that now. Also, just yesterday my seatbelt light decided to pipe up. so now the e-brake light adn my seatbelt light are on all the time. Was wondering where to start checking.

Is there anything grounded to your parking brake? Is the cable snagged? Pull of the console and fiddle around for a while. Also, I'm pretty sure there's a sensor down there somewheres. Your best bet is to pull of the center console and check. One thing you can do is completely unhook the parking break cable and see if the light is still on. As for the seatbelt, I dunno.

Damn. I got the same problem on my Talon. I don't know what to do about the seatbelt light?

Could always do what I did, and i take the bulbs out :chair: . Both my lights were on. There's a sensor like the other poster said, under the console by the brake. The seat belt light has a harness the runs under the seat to the bottom of the seat belt attachment. If I'm wrong someone correct me, because that's how it was on my rs.

For e-brake do as the guys above have suggested.

The seat belt should be pretty easy too. Check the drivers seat where your belt clips in. There should be a wire running into the seat belt clip. There's a sensor in there that tells the computer the seat belt has been clipped. Make sure there is nothing wrong there. If you are really lucky, it might have just come unplugged under the seat. Under the middle of your drivers seat is a wiring harness, it comes up out of the carpet. There should be a white connector with a wire that goes over to the seat belt clip. You might have an extra clip hanging there too if you don't have power seats. If you don't see anything wrong in there areas it might be the sensor in the seat belt clip went bad - esp if you have a lot of miles and an older car.

For your hand brake, it might be because your brake fluid is low.

X2 That's what was causing my light to stay on. It would vary with temp changes and drove me crazy for a while:( It turned out that the fluid was just barely low enough to trigger the light.
