Hello all...I have a question for a TurboXS Type H-34...I put it in my 2g talon and took it for a spin quick and it would do fine till i hit full boost(15psi) then it would just die when I shifted to the next gear? It seemed like it let out to much air...Whats the problem with it? I heard of other people doing stuff with the spring? So could someone please answer my question because I really want it to work!:)

Does it reserc back into the intake?

Check for boost leaks, it will also tell you if your BoV is leaking, once that is taken out of the equation we can look at other possible sources.

I have no experience with this problem, just shooting a few ideas on what to check. Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in.

But with a boost leak it wouldn't get to full boost would it? Plus it still pulls just as hard as if I had the stock 2g bov on...
As far as i know, it will still get to full boost, but the turbo has to work a lot harder for it to get there, basically making your car very inefficient. Def. check for boost leaks. More than likely your bov is leaking. That is the only part you changed...so the problem probably lies there.

And added problem with making your turbo work harder is that its spinning at a higher than designed RPM which equals a quicker death to the turbo. Its like taking a turbo designed for 15 psi and running 22psi worth of RPM's but all you are seeing is 15. I hope I explained that well enough.

You either:

  • Have a boost leak
  • Have a sensor unplugged, like your MAS
  • Are venting and you dont know it
  • Have a compression/fuel/spark problem
  • Your timing is off
Check those and see if any of that is noticed as an issue.

The turboXS bov's are HORRIBLE. Sorry to say this but I have never in my life had more problems with a company than turboXS. I ran their RFL on a turbo del sol and the stupid thing would leak like crazy at under 4 psi. I called, argued, and whined until they sent me a new spring. It was "suppose" to be a 15 pound spring. Turns out this one doesnt even hold 10 psi.

I complained some more, they sent me another new bov (saying some crap about the bov housing being manufactured badly) and guess what, the new one leaks as well. I'm usually all for cheap products that work well but I've had shit for luck with turboXS.

Do a boost leak test, i would bet money you're leaking like crazy.

Under your hood it says .28-.32 for a gap.I always run .29 and have never had a problem. This doesnt really sound like a spark plug gapping issue.
Hey Mike, I hate to clutter someones thread, but I have no choice. Your PM box is full and you have been avoiding me and my phone calls.

You have my money and my parts................. Its in your best interest to get a hold of me ASAP. Hopefully my point is made clear.

I apologize to you talontsi1225 for bringing a business matter into your thread. :(

Turbo xs are crap. I had one and it leaked. If I was you I would get a greddy or and hks. A 1g crushed bov is also a better alternative and probably cheaper. Like said above do a boost leak test, gap the plugs, and make sure everything is plugged in and all vac lines are hooked up properly. If you need it to hold more just add a ton of washers.
