OK umm.. I need some ideas.
Got my car started today, didnt have any issues, it was idling fine, voltage looked alright. I noticed the fan was not kicking on, so I thought I wired my slim fan incorrectly, turns out I didnt. Anyways, I just twisted the wires together so I could drive the mile home from the welding shop so I could solder them together again. About 200 feet from the shop, my voltage went from 13ish down to 10, 9, 8 and then my turbo timer cut out
I tow the car home with the guy from the shop driving my truck. I solder the wires back together, thinking it was the ground, jump the car, it runs fine and then take the cables off, 11, 10, 9, 8, TT cuts out and I shut off the car. I didnt even connect the fan so now I know that is no longer in the equation. The only other thing I installed was a shift light, which I am going to disconnect tomorrow and see if that fixes my problem. I did notice another ground that looks a little loose, I am going to solder that to the round clip that its bolted to and see if that might be the issue as well.
Brand new engine, everything is connected, clean the battery terminals, brand new Alt with less than 80 miles on it. Any other ideas?
Oh an another thing which I thought was weird, I disconnected my DSMLink OBD socket and I did manage to get some power back, does that act as a drain at all by receiving power when connected?
Need help pronto, I have 1 1/2 days to get this car running tip top so that I can leave for the track around 1pm Friday afternoon.
