Yea I went to the track for open test and tune last night in my awd talon. I havent been to the track since spring of 06 and that was with my gst where I went 14.1@104.73. There were a ton of muscle cars only imports were a crx and mazda speed 3 and me. I ended up with only one run bc I didnt know I needed a helmet.
Well it was my first time launching a awd car so i got a 2.1 60' time 330 was 5.742 1/8 was 8.744@81.84 1000 was 11.306 and the 1/4 was 13.509@102.61
I guess it was ok for a non tuned car on a 14b on 16psi. I know i need a better launch and also needed my 2 step to work but it failed me. I would have liked to have run again but couldnt find anybody willin to let me use a helmet and the track no longer rents them.
Once i get my 60-1 I should easily hit mid 12's hopefully and maybe just maybe if im lucky 11's with all the work thats done to the car.

i got a local guy giving me one.
my 2 step is set for 5250 on linmk but last night my ecu got reset on accident and forsome reason 2 step wouldnt work after i reconfigured it. So I ended up reving to 5.5 and slipped it but let it slip I guess a lil to long. I need to go to my job site and work on launching we have a huge parkin lot that is empty due to the fact the buildings arnt finished so I can get better.

Yep! Practice makes perfect, my first awd launch was a 1.7 60ft. So you'll be able to shatter that.

Congrats on the times though, do some more tuning and get a better launch and I suspect 12's are in your future.

What are your mods? your 60 foot needs work. If you would of gotten down a little you could of been in the low 13's. Nice work! I need to take my 14b to the track. 12's?

You have enough mods, My car went mid/low 12s on 14b w/ race gas with lessor mods.
( Weight reduction ftw ;) )

Op, focas on that launch, and getting more out of your tune and low 13s shuoldnt be a problem. Weight reduction will help also, you should be trapping a good 3-4 mph higher and running a good half sec faster imo.

Dont be like everyone else who gets mad that their cars are slow and goes and slaps a bigger turbo on without addressing why the old setup was slow first. See this setup into the 12s before going to a bigger turbo, and your results with the bigger turbo will be even better.

Btw, dont make the mistake my friend Kris did, a turbo like a 60-1 is completley not fun on a street car unless you have meth or e85 to run around with aggressive timing and 25+ psi every day...
I dont know your goals, but putting an oversized turbo on a dsm is common practice now days.

Yeah I won't be running race gas. It is just too much for me. I like to run my car on pump or in the future, meth.
Op, how you like the cams on the 14b did it help at all? I'm about to pick up some 264/272 hks for mine. Or hopefully someone will trade me for their 272's. The 14bs don't have much top end that is why I wondering if the cams helped at all.

I have already had the 60 trim its just i bought it from a guy off here and it was blown. I had no idea that it was bad bc it was supposed to have 400 miles on it and had no real signs of being blown.
The cams def helped with the top end power i say go with them if you can get them

I stand behind this statement 120%!!!!!!!!! Don't upgrade from the 14b until you hit at least a very low 13/high 12, until then it's not the problem unless it's broken.

Practice makes perfect. I kept practicing and my best 60ft is now 1.65. I use the slip dump method. I launch at 5K with Studderbox (Keydiver). I'm now high 11's with my FP3052 running 25psi dropping to 23 and an E85 Mix (not pure) I have a stock longblock. Lets see how long this lasts before breaking on me:p .
Good luck.
