Backstory: My car is a 98 gst with pretty much every bolt on you can do on a stock turbo. Megan o2 housing, ebay 3" cat back, megan 3" catless DP, ebay intake w/ K&N intake, 190 pump, ported manifold, dave brode UICP w/ 1g bov, RRE LICP, custom made IC sprayer. All of the mods have cost me probably less than 1K so total, I have about 5K invested in my 50K original mile cream puff as I call her 
I'm a moderator of the a2sportcompacts and we hold weekly meets, with about 20-30 car on an average night. We decided to do some rolling shots of my car with my friend Mark's sti (spt intake/spt exhaust). I had one person in my car, he had one person in his car. As we were taking the shots of my car (i'll post up all of the photos in a day or so) we decided to have fun.
Race 1: We went from a 35mph 2nd gear roll and ended at the top of 3rd. In 2nd we were neck to neck the whole time but he shifted first and when he was shifting I pulled a car lenght on him. Switched to third and kept my lead, we ended at the top of third with me about a car in front.
Race 2: We were stopped at a light and did a rolling start from 20mph or so with both of us in 2nd. Third honk, I pulled an easy lenght on him and he misshifted third, so I pulled another 3 or so lenghts on him at which point we shut down and headed back.
So at this point, i'm extatic because I just beat a 35K sti with my 5K dollar stock t-too-slow turbo
About an hour ago after the meet was done, we headed back and I stopped at a light with my friend Derrick behind me. He drives a 07 (i think) mazdaspeed 3 with the mazdaspeed intake and mazdaspeed catback. We both turned at the light onto a bridge and when we lined up side by side, we were going about 30mph in second. He punched it first but I have faster spool so we were dead even at first. Surprisingly, we were COMPLETELY dead even all the way through 3rd gear!
We stopped at a light and decided to go from a dig. Now, keep in mind i'm on all weather 205 michellins and he's on 225 Falken Azenis 2K rpm dialed in (I didn't want to spin too much), light turns green and we're off. He was spinning MUCH worse than me, I spun it to 5K and then decided to shift to 2nd. Shift to second, he's still spinning and I pulled a car lenght on him. Drive through second, shift to third and I pulled another half lenght on him. We shut it down around 90 or so and what do you know, my second win of the night against a car I never knew I could beat
Sorry about the long post, I'm excited though I'm just waiting for my install kit to arrive so I can slap a 14b and new injectors/AFC on my car and see if I can take down my friend's evo 9 MR (intake/exhaust/IC piping/reflash/255). Trust me when I say, i'll make a post about it if i do!
