After seeing people with the 2g MAS I was thinking of getting one. I have a 1g hard pipe for my turbo with 1G MAS. Should I sell it and get a 2g hard pipe with 2g MAS and K&N filter?

I would get the 2g mas. Then again the 3" GM MAF and Translator is a great tool also. One of my buddys is converting to Speed Density from the MAFT GenII. I'm sure he's going to be looking to sell it soon. We're local to each other also. If you want to check it out. You could come by and see both styles of doing things. I've got the 2g MAS and EPROM Emulator and he's got the GenII.

That is a really cool offer. Glad to see people still offering to help others out.

As for your situation, I would go wit a 2g mas. They have supported up 450 and even 500hp. They don't cost all that much and it is a great upgrade. Also, I would just get a full 3" intake and a reducer to go down to your stock 14b intake size. That way when you upgrade to a bigger turbo, you will have an intake that is still bigger or equal to the size of the intake.

Make sure you have a pigtail for a 2G maf... I can help you on that

Sell the pipe or trade, and buy a 2G hard intake pipe!

Do you have ABS or stock sidemount intercooler still?

I still have stock side mount.

Make your own pipe thats what i did.
2 mandrels 3" 45deg. mild steel.
1 home depot 3"to3" coupler
take your stock intake and remove the bov pipe and weld it to your new intake. You got yourself an intake for a little over $40 bucks.
But then again im a doit yourself guy, I realize not everyone has a mig welder chop saw sawzall ect. ect.

What do you plan on doing about injectors when you swap to the 2g mas? If you are still on the 450's they arent going to cut it. 550's will make the 2g mas conversion almost drop in with very little tuning.

Yeah I'm gonna do this once I can upgrade my injectors.

waste of time and money unless you have over 350-375hp

just hack your 1g (cut off the whole bottom section). just doing this mod brought down my et's from 13.0 to 12.6 (same 1.70 60') as well as gave me an extra 4mph in the 1/4.

Do you mean the honey comb looking thing?:dunno:

i cut the whole bottom half off. The car didn't run properly on partial throttle at times but a afc and some low throttle tuning took care of it. If you get a 2g or 3' maf your will most likely see some a/f problems. I plan on going 3' gm but i'm going to wait till i get a link. I like to keep everything as simple as possible
