sup, tomorrow one guy who owns
a 1985 Pontiac Trans AM H.O 5.0L V8 wants to race me on the light to light race.
I only own the GSX for about a month, but I still can't figure out what is the best way to launch it. I mean how can I accelerate as quick as possible? what is the RPM range I should launch? How should I let the clutch go off?
Then how much gas should I add according to clutch?
Any advise? I got HKS exhaust + intake as for performance mods. It should be easy to beat that car huh? It's stock.
thanks for any info!

easy

let it go at around 5K or less even, seriously
Let the clutch out as usual, a little faster, this is not goung to be a contest. You are going to loose him from the get go. How long it the light, down start shifting too early!!! Sh88 don't go pass 2nd unless this is a long ass light. Easy winNNNNNNNN

Just launch good and you will be okay, jsut dont shift too soon, stck GSX run pretty close to that i think, but the race, it could ne close, but you will win. AWD take off very FUC:::: quick. Don't trip No Problem

ummm....a 5.0 85 trans am runs about 17 in the 1/4, they only have about 140 hp and nearly all have an auto, so unless your a really bad driver (like me) it shouldn't be much of a race. 0-60 in 6.4 is for the tpi 350 that came in later cars, not the 305. If you don't believe me ask the peoplehttp://www.3rdgen.org/ about the awesome power of the 305 tbi engine.

you gotta be kidding, those old 80's trans ams only run 17's!!!! haha I could take one of those in my NT! HAHA! now there's a joke

Nope, those are the V8 times (305 TBI). The 305's are DOGS. Most of those third gen guys dump them and put in a 350 TPI when they actually want to get out of their own way.
