So far so good, replaced the throttle body seals, easier then I thought and glad it was. Cleaned the throttle body also, it was black with about 1/128 of an inch of oil/gunk (rough guestimation), but hopefully an oil catch can will clear that up.
Now I am waiting on some gaskets so I can put the throttle body back on. Also need to get my ss fuel line cut since STM sent it to me frayed to death. Once thats done, I'll finish off my AFPR.

Hopefully all of this will be done tomorrow..

I didn't even put a catch can on my car, i just went to autozone and bought one of the small air filters that they sell for like 6 dollars, and put that on my valve cover. It doesn't leak oil out the filter and i don't have any oil going into all my piping and intake anymore. I like the look of the filter more than a catch can.

Also i forgot, for your fuel line you can cut it yourself. Wrap the good part of the line where you want to cut it in electrical tape. Then take a die grinder and cut right in the middle of the electrical tape, so it won't fray when you cut it. I did this on mine and it helped me.

I am without a die grinder, and the small cutting wheel I have is too big and frays the line just enough to keep it from going into the fitting. I have a performance shop about 2 blocks away who I will have cut it just to have one less headache. Thanks though.

Also, I am more inclined to get a catch can because my bay is already filthy with oil from everywhere I suppose, even though I don't lose oil. Again, one less thing to worry about.

It sxux you don't have a die grinder, walmart use to have them for around 30 dollars but i dont know if they do anymore. As far as the oil goes i know it sucks cleaning up a oily engine bay. My valve cover gasket leaked oil everywhere and it was a pain. I hvent had any problem with the filter being on there. Oil doesnt get everywhere from filter. We did the same thing on my brothers mustang gt 5.0. He has alittle vapor coming out but no oil at all.

I hate the way a catch can look in the engine bay. My motto, the less stuff in the engine bay the better.

Well, no a/c, no p/s, and soon to be moved battery and I will have plenty of room for a catchcan.

As far as buying a die grinder, I would, but now that I just spent about 300 dollars on some important and random car stuff I am all out of $30 bills...

Anyways, gaskets came today from Extremepsi, along with a fixed order for a oil pan plug and gasket which shipped as a front case castle plug and o-ring. Well on my way to fixing my problems, I hope.

Cleaned the throttle body, reset the TPS, and installed new o-rings and gaskets. Torqued it all down. NO FIX. Thats fine because I still need to install the AFPR.

Luckily the place I brought the line to in order to be cut and pieced together, broke my 90* fitting. AWESOME! They broke it, and its going to cost me 20 bucks to fix. Whatever, it will be done friday, along with my no spool and power at WOT problem.

Got everything together.. Got the AFPR set, car started after priming the fuel system.

STILL RUNS LIKE HELL!

Same problem, at WOT the car feels like it chokes and there is a loss of what little power there is. Also the fuel pump sounds louder then usual. I'll have to look at everything again tomorrow when its not raining...
I'm having a really hard time with this people.. Any NEW help would be great.
Thanks,
Tim

EDIT: Also it sounds like I have an exhaust leak.. could a large exhaust leak at the O2 housing cause no spool and "choking" at WOT?

Is it possibly a bad fuel filter not flowing properly, or plugged up some how?

Did you plug the injector clips in the wrong order? Or forget to plug your MAF back in for some reason?

Would the car even have fuel is the filter was plugged up? It runs, it just doesn't build boost, and when I test drove it after the AFPR install, the vacuum seemed to be off, up around 10-15 rather then 20.

Went out one last time to check out my car. Car idles somewhat rough, the vacuum is between 15 and 20. Given any throttle under load and the car chokes, and loses power completely, but does not die.

Please, help me out, I don't know what else to check or do.. The only shop I go to (who are close to incompetent with these cars, but are the only shop around who I have gone to repeatedly with all of my cars) said they will have to hold my car for a while to figure it out..

Sounds just like the same issue I've been having, but it would happen to me around 5psi or I would give it alot of gas at low rpm's... I just figured it was a boost leak till I replaced all my intercooler piping today. I haven't noticed any busted up fuel hoses, or any fuel issues yet with the car. It idles at 1,000rpm's, -15 vacuum and 40psi for fuel. I can slowly or quickly get into boost, but as soon as I hit 5psi or so it just acts like I'm hitting a fuel cut. I wish I could figure this crap out!

The car drives absolutely perfect other than that and I've pulled to 6,000rpm's without an issue. Hopefully I'm not just overlooking something, I am new to DSM's...

At idle you should be around 35psi. I believe, with the vacuum hose disconnected around 43-45psi. I could be wrong, but you might be running rich.

check http://www.vfaq.com/mods/FPR.html

So you're thinking that I'm running too rich and that'll cause me to sputter when I begin to boost? It says that this normally happens with a larger fuel pump. I'm not sure if I have the stock one in mine since I bought the car used.. It does whine like my past Walbro's have though.

If you start pouring more gas into your engine then it can compensate for with air, then sure you'll have problems. Check your pump, see what you have, and if you have an AFPR, adjust it properly.

Well I don't have a 2g, but my fuel pump is accessed through the trunk, just under the spare. If you do have an upgraded pump, you should buy an AFPR, its important to have control over that fuel.
