ok heres the story. traded a 90 integra for a 91 gst. well when i first got the car it ran but hardly and had a miss like crazy and the water pump went out and the fpr wasnt hooked up at all. so i changed the water pump, put in new spark plugs, ngk bpr8es to be exact, and hooked up the fpr. well i got the car started once yesturday and it smoked like hell. there is no miss anymore though and i rechecked the timing and its perfect. well my friend brings to my attention the amount of oil running out of my bov which is quite a bit. i took apart the j pipe from the turbo and it was just as clean as it came off the show room floor. the compressor side of the turbo is also perfectly clean and all the intake piping to the turbo is clean. so i have no idea where the hell all this oil is comming from but it only seems to be past the side mount. also when i was sittin in the driveway if i gave it gas it would go to 15psi which is where i have it set, and it would idle back down to about 1500rpm and perfect vaccum but then drop down to about 1000rpm and be at like 9in/hg vaccum. sorry if this seems like an all to familiar problem for some, but i searched yesturday through about 3 pages of stuff and couldnt find this problem. if anyone can help please do. im doing a compression test as soon as i get a new starter, that happened to go out yesturday too.

I wouldn't worry about it. There was probably a blown turbo on there previously that pushed oil through the system.

there was a blown turbo on there, i took that one apart myself. but everything was cleaned out prior to that and the first few times i started it, it only smoked at start up and went away rather quickly. also very poor acceleration. i forgot to mention this. but i did take it down the road and i had the pedel to the floor and it felt like i was driving a geo metro.

Oil in a stock intake track is normal. It goes through the PCV valve into the intake of the turbo and through the pipes. If it bothers you or is very excessive take off the IC pipes and pull out the intercooler itself and clean them out. Swish gas around in the IC and dump it out, you will be surprised how much shit comes out of it. And the IC pipes you can clean out with brake cleaner and a toilet brush or something the like.

PS, Read and adhere to rule 7 please.

Check for boost leaks.

So did you put a new turbo on it then? There is alot to go along with these cars being a turbo application out of the box. If you are not familiar with them I recommend reading up, using the search button.

I then recommend you get on a local DSM board and try to get some help locally and learn from there.

Sounds like you may be in trouble.

yes brand new 14b on the car. and the hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake pipe on the turbo is not there, just a breather on the valve cover and the hole in the intake pipe was blocked off.

I can only think that the intercooler had oil in it, and it got sucked up.

yea i hope so. i am waitin to get a new starter when i get the money and doing a compression check just to make sure. in the mean time i am going to completely take apart the piping and clean everything once more.

Honestly, if you see no trace of oil around the J pipe then you're good. Don't worry.

i have reason to worry though lol. its comming out the bov in retarded amounts and spraying all over the engine bay. not exactly normal lol. plus the vaccum issue and the absolutely no power issue there. not exactly good. and it all started at one time.

Clean out the system again, but do it properly. Spash a little gasoline in the intercooler, hopefully that will get all the oil out.

If you see oil after a second cleaning, then you need to start examining the system. I don't understand how there would be no oil in the J pipe, but oil in the rest of it.

Sounds good.

Again, please abide by rule number 7. I would hate to see you get a vacation.

Me either dude. This place really helped me perfect my grammar, punctuation, and spelling. These days I can't stand to leave anything incorrect.

Hopefully you acclimate better than some of the other noobs around here.

Well I have just taken apart all of the intercooler piping from the turbo to the throttle body. Just as I had said before, everything from the turbo to the intercooler was completely clean and everything from the intercooler to the throttle body was covered in oil. This is after sitting all of last night and all today untill now. I also found a nice little boost leak. The idiot who owned the car before me apparently put a pipe with a hole in it and just covered it with electrical tape. I did hang the intercooler up with a nice little bucket under it to let gravity do some of the work and drain the oil for me. I ran a little gasoline through it like some of you had suggested to get the oil flowing. Next thing will be the compression test, but that will be a few days as I have to purchase a new starter, and hook it up correctly so it won't burn itself up.
