Ok so i have been looking for cost effective ways to get a fmic, Also to try something different out, I can get a ebay intercooler for less than 100 bucks that part is easy, I could get a universal piping kit too but I was thinking of using something like this:-
http://www.auto-performance.co.uk/?gclid=CJ3ZjsLi8ZsCFWIB4wodGCgXAQ
My buddy in the UK is running this stuff on his supercharged probe, and recommended it, Has anybody tried this kind of thing before, If so are there any recommended retailers preferably in Canada.

Are you talking about the "dryer type" looking stuff? IDK...... There is alot of heat in "our" bays....The J-pipe runs right next to the exhaust... It would melt? I would assume that your buddies probe runs low boost? I'm guessing around 5-10 psi? "Our" cars run a minimum of 10-12 psi... I wouldnt trust that stuff.... Where would you mount a BOV?

You could maybe use it in *some* parts, but really it's a much better idea to go with hard piping. One advantage of hard piping is that the inside of the pipe is a smooth surface and allows the air to travel more efficiently, rather than having to run into a bunch of little creases that you would have in that ducting shit. Do it right man, if you're going to do a FMIC get the right stuff and be done with it IMO.

Not to mention you'd have one hell of a time making a BOV flange seal on that.

Just do it right, it'll only cost a few more bucks.

They actually have BOV flange aluminum sections on that site. The strength of the stuff seems great, and the temp ratings are -60C up to +325C. The working pressure is 3.5 bar(50 PSI), and the bursting is 10.5 bar(152 PSI); you guys still worried about 10-12 psi lol. The stuff seems like a good alternative, but remember, you'll have to secure the hose so it doesn't bend and stretch around in the engine bay while you're driving.

I'm speechless.

Why don't we just use hamsters to turn the compressor wheel?

How is an ebay front mount not cheap enough? They practically give those things away.
Yes, but everyone knows Ebay crap is garbage. Not to mention, those "universal" piping kits on ebay suck as well. Anything like that is universal and says will fit a DSM wont fit. And while many say SSAC is ebay garbage, those are the one's who havnt tested the product themselves. There are many people making good power on them with me being one of them.

My car has the ebay kit on it and I know it works. What I don't get is why you want to do all silicone piping when the kit is dirt cheap to start with and comes with piping that fits. How do I know it fits, cause it's on my car.

And there's no way that 15 ft. or whatever it may be of silicone is going to be cheaper then the tubing that comes with the SSAC kit.

Hard piping doesn't flex under load (balloon), where silicon does. That's the reason to switch from the soft pipes to hard pipes in the first place. That being said, Hard pipe is a bitch to deal with, if you have to remove/reinstall, soft pipe isn't. If you blow soft pipes, go hard, other than that, go for it.

That sounds bad, doesn't it?

Edit: I was working on my intercooler piping today, so I'm not happy with dealing with it.

Edit#2: That stuff is smooth lined on the interior, and reinforced with bronze, so it should work fine.

If you're going for a generic universal kit you should consider what Mac said. SSAC seems to be the best bang for your buck for a kit you know will fit. Universal kits have too many pieces, too many couplers, and too many possible leaks imo. If you aren't going for an original idea then at least go reliable.
