Is there a quick way to check FPR? like disconnecting vaccum hose while idling? I disconnected it and it stays the same for a minute then revs down and I am sure the engine would shut off if I left the vaccum line unplugged for over a minute.

Stock FPR? The engine dying is probably because you've now created a vacuum leak by having that open line. The real question is what has you suspicious of the FPR working? Are you experiencing some sort of issue?

stock fpr. Yes i have plenty of threads i posted with my problems, but yea, starting problem, takes around 5 cranks, then when I try to give it gas when idling it hesitates and bogs down, engine almost shuts off then it revs up. and driving problems also.

First off, don't forget rule #7. You did good on your first post, so keep up with that.

Onto the issue. The FPR would probably be one of the last things I would check. I would first start with a boost leak test. I'm sure you'll find that much of your problems lay there. Then it sounds like your car just needs some general maintenance such as new spark plugs, filters and such. Also if you can find a knowledgeable DSMer in your area to take a quick look at your car, maybe you have some vacuum lines routed wrong or something simple like that that you might not notice.

I got your PM, but no video. Post it here so you can get several opinions.

TDC is a good spot to leave it. Honestly though you shouldn't have much of an issue there. Either the intake valves should be open and the exhaust valves closed, or vise versa, but either way, air shouldn't be making it into the exhaust.

Test at the turbo inlet with the engine at operating temp and somehow holding the throttle body butterfly open to allow air into the intake manifold.

I'm off to bed, hopefully someone else can chime in with some more advice.

Mine didn't do it all of a sudden, but in the end it ending up being my Throttle body gaskets. But like they said above, chances are it isn't your Fpr.What were the results of your boost leak test?

havent got to the boost leak test just yet, just moved into another home so its taken me a bit, but I did check the spark plug wires for resistance and 2 of them were about 6,500, another was like 5,600 and cylinder one, closest to the timing belt, was reading 3,900. Would this be my problem?

Well I am off in a minute to go do boost leak test, just had a question tho. When I remember when I rev my car up and then when the RPMS come back down close to idle, I hear kinda like a high pitch squeal? Sounds maybe from the turbo, last I check there was no shaft play with the turbo.
