Hey guys, some of you know I'm doing my DSM82HTA build in December. I decided while I have the mani's/head and all other bs off anyways, I might as well just go ahead and suck it up and rebuild the bottom end. I've searched on here a ton and it seems like everyone is running radically different setups for their built bottom end. So me being newer to the 4g63 I'd just like some suggestions.

I'm looking to get 30+ daily driven psi out of my new DSM82hta turbo. I'm definetly not opposed to the idea of a stroker kit, but I will be keeping the stock crank and bore of the block, this car is a 98 7 bolt at 100k with ZERO crankwalk. Before you get into the bs of building my 7 bolt, please just give me your thoughts on what pistons/rods I could run that would be beneficial to my goal of 30+ psi daily drivable bulletproof bottom end.

Thanks guys!

I was looking at the Eagle rods, they look great for the money at extremepsi. I'm pretty convinced to stick with those because of they're tried and true rep. Now for pistons, what set of stroker pistons should I run? Any recommendations on that? Keep in mind that i'll be keeping the stock bore, I was checking out those 9.0:1 2.3L kit though.

Well you can paint a turd and make it look pretty, but at the end of the day, its still POS...

Good luck...

Man you guys are all over the place.

Piston selection is up to you but if you want a bulletproof bottom end:

Stock crank (balanced), stock caps, stock Bolts
Pauter X-beam rods, ACL bearings. (crosshatch the wrist pin bushings)
Whatever pistons you have swaintech race coat the tops of them.
o-ring the block and use L19 style studs.

K Mans, as always, thankyou for your endless knowledge! The only reason I haven't settled on the X-beams from Pauter is because they're almost triple the price of the Eagles. Moving on though does anyone have input on the pistons themselves?
