I wanna buy the tool kit for $50 on their website. While this seems like a good deal, I searched in here and found one guy complained about the tool being screwed up and won't work.

His post is now about 2 years ago, and I like to know if anyone recently bought the tool kit from them and it is good as should be or still messed up?

I just used one last week. I borrowed it from a friend that does a lot of side work on DSMs so it was definitely well worn but I had no problems with it overall.

As long as you lube the tensioner compressing bolt and ratchet it in by hand you should have no problems.

OK. I'm sold! Btw, that is one AWESOME looking engine. With b. shaft eliminator and "pink bubble gum" valve cover, HHHHOT!!!;) Could this motor be for a woman? Thanks for the pic.

LMAO, nope, its mine and I'm a guy. Its Neon Flourecent Pink. Basically I saw a color chart and thought, that color should annoy people and picked it. My ex liked it but her car was pink.

The only thing I've found is the plastic insert for the gears does not line them up 100%. It will hold them if you're removing the belt (which is nice) but when putting the belt on, you will need to move the gears ever so slightly to get the belt seated just right. The threaded rod and tensioner tool is great. Just that 1 minor thing with the cam gear tool, but I still use it when changing a belt.

I noticed that the plastic cam gear holder tends to wear down a little after doing over 20 timing belt jobs. It also works on the EVO8/9 just as good as the DSM.
