i have a 97gst with
16g
fmic
750cc injectors walbro 255lph @60psi
3in cat back
maft 3.5''

No matter how I set the maft I keep getting a fuel cut i've got the wastegate set at stock. I have searched and get the run around. I've always used the safc2 and there are many diffrent user manuals for the maft and they all say diffrent things. Does anyone have some tunning insite where I should start.
Right now I have the first 3 switches on and the aux@6 base is set to 8. Ive leaned it way out to -35% and still same fuel cut. It cuts hard when im wot@4500ish but will clean up after. I can ease into the throttle and it will run up just fine

I intend on running 18-20psi once I get all this low boost fuel crap figured out

Boost leak test is going to be your best bet. What are you Hz readings with the SAFC and hitting fuel cut. You only hit fuel cut when your MAF reads more air than is actually making it into the engine. Also what is the reason for 60psi fuel pressure? You aren't maxing anything out yet.

The right way to cure fuel cut is to find your boost leak. And why in the world are you running 60psi base fuel pressure? You should be running 43.5 or 38.5 and you will be fine. It's not like at 18-20psi you will be maxing out the 750s anyway.
And why are you running 750cc injectors anyway, (unless you have a keydriver chip) those injectors are too big for an safc. 650s work great, 680cc MAX.

He's running a MAFT.

I'm unsure the differences between 1g and 2g MAFT but there should be a switch to eliminate fuel cut if it is in fact fuel cut.

Do the boost leak test and set everything back to 0 (besides the base on the MAFT, keep that set for 750cc). If you don't have a wideband and an aftermarket boost gauge, go buy one now. At 10psi you really shouldn't have to make much adjustments.

LOL taze.
Yes I have the aem wideband but I still have to go get a bung welded in. 60psi creates a finner mist and give better burn=better afr.
I have 750cc so when i dont have to worry about duty cycles when I decide to get another 20g.
I have to go get some pvc fittings to make a new boost leak tester. Back from iraq and cant find any of my tools
Bare with me it might take me sometime to reaclamate under the dsm's.

Thanks for the info

:wall: No...it doesn't. Not in this application. Back it down to 38.5-43.5, now. You are washing your cylinders out with fuel.

Also, have you checked that you didn't plug in the MAS plug backwards? That could create problems by itself.

What Cracked said... I had my plug backwards and it acted like fuel cut (sorta). It would idle perfect but when reved it would bog down bad. The pink wire on the stock harness should match up with the red wire on the maft. Or vice versa. I can't remember. Maybe its pink on the maft and red on the stock but either way they must match up.

I had a boost leak at the pcv valve (fixed) I lowered to fuel pressure to ehh 40psi. I changed all the dials back to zero (except base) ran it a few times got a nasty fuel cut no suprise to me. Moved to aux dial to 8 and she stutters a bit and takes till about 5200 to boost up to 11psi. Much better running than before but still no where near close to what it should be. Im not going to a dyno to let someone risk blowing this car up ( i been down that road before 2x) 2moro I will get the wideband hooked up.
Thanks for helping me get the wheels turning in my head if there is anything im missing again... yell at me again! lol

It looks like it can only be pluged in one way i.e. the tabs wont let it go any other way. But I think this was a pre-wired/pre-pluged 2g model so dont think the wires are backwards but I will pull the tape off and check.

I replaced the maf itself cause I read somwhere that they go bad frequently (so I now have 4 in my tool box)
