I am looking to get some lowering springs for my '97 GSX. I was thinking of getting the sportlines cause they are lower, but I heard from someone that the prokit's have better performance. What is everyone's experience? If you have either of these two springs, what is your experience with them? Which one's should I get. I know that the sportline's are discontinued, but there are still some out there.

I think its the other way around, the Prokits are the ones discontinued at least that's what the Eibach representative told me.

But it all depends on what you like. IMO I like the prokits because you still get some clearance on speed bumps and dips.

Pro kit if you can do it. Gives you a good drop, not too much and not too little.

I got away with RRE Camber in the rear and nothing special done in the front with the pro kit.

Sportlines will really require a lot of camber corrections.

Dont forget to get an alignment when you do your springs, its going to be needed.

I have experience with both. Go with the less of a drop. I had the lower ones and it scraped everywhere! Also when I had my ridiculously bad camber adjusted my tires rubbed constantly. So that is why I changed to the prokit and haven't looked back. Hope this helps. Also look into some Tokico illumina shocks to go with them, very noticeable difference in mine.

Sportline is the line that is being discontinued. Pro-kits are fine.

Pro-kits are the performance spring kit while the Sportlines were the hard parker look dropped kits. A 2G DSM has very little suspension travel as it is. Drop it 2" and you will be banging your bump stops unless you go with a short bodied strut.

I had the pro-kit/kyb agx combo on my 2g...didn't like it. Way too stiff for the little drop. If you're going to lower it I highly recommend getting a quality aftermarket strut (Tokicos or Konis), and in that case you might as well go for the better drop - sportlines. Or go with Ground control coilover springs, which are made by Eibach.
