I guess since my phone is dying I will just give you the answer you want. Get the utlra premium race plugs at the top of your list. If they cost the most they must be the best right? Once you get them installed make another thread and let us all know how many Hondas you beat with your new plugs.

I know I put some unobtanium hexifire plugs in my talon and it was suddenly so powerful it did wheelies while getting 744224mpg. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore, so you'll just have to buy the most expensive plugs you can find.

Ok, I understand what your trying to get at. Here is my 2 cents.. I had stock plugs in my car, saw the new pulstar which gaurenteed resultys. Put them suckers in, my car ran like crap, poped and missed. Took them out put in the NGK platnium plugs, ran a little better. Gots pissd and got the stock bpr7es. Worked like it is supposed ta'.

Point being, the iridium and platnium are just "longer lasting" plugs. No performance gain. The pulstar and tri-fire mumbo jumbo is not worth it. Junk in junk out. Maybe compared to spark plugs from the 60's they are better, but its hard to beat the factory spec, well specs.

If you dont agree, test them out yourself.

Here's is someone who understands me! Thank you!

Take note my car is boosted, so it may very compared to yours. I dont like them personally, but your N/T may yield better milage. It is possible, in my expierence though, none for the price have ever made me happy. Hope this helps.

Good job SLEEPS I glad someone had what it takes to finally get through to bob that ngk's are his best bet. I mean they were only recomended by everyone in this thread from start to finish.

If they ever start making those unobtanium hexifire plugs again I think we should get a group buy started!!!!!

We all understood you, just like we all have access to Google and the Search function.

He didn't revolutionize testing, he just spoon-fed you.
-Thats how some people want to hear it.

Ha, right, maybe then we could get them for a price of the notorious ngk's. :p

I know everyone said this to him, but no one gave an example of why they recommended those, or what they did try and what it resulted in. I think thats what he was looking for, a reason to believe you.

Yeah I'm sure he was but when I get the same answer for a question I ask on here from however many different people(i lost count) have been in this tread I take there word for it. I can't say I have seen a thread where everyone was wrong on this forum but there are alot of threads I havnt read, yet!!!!!!

Inquiry,

How come when I had Splitfire plugs, I felt and saw the better performance?

I always thought it was cause of the dual tip design giving more spark to the cylinders for extra HP boost, therefore my thinking was if I got plugs that were "better" to or equal, I could get back the results I had before. I've seen so much advertising and new stuff lately that I was confused.

If NGK is the way to go, could I at least try to use the upgrade to see results myself? I figure every engine is different in setup and since mine has been rebuilt once already The cost isn't much different from stock, so I thought it was worth a shot.

It is allways worth a shot I suppose. What those people dont tell you is the amount of spark your plug gets is from your ignition system. The plug itself cant do more than what it is givin. Now if you upgrade your igniton you would feel and get true performance.

Im not saying you did not get anything from the spitfires, Im just saying like a louder exhaust makes you feel faster, it may not be true on the dyno. But by all means try them, but you just will need more than "i felt it" to prove the tried and true NGK's are beat. Do it to it!

Your asking if you can at least try to upgrade you plugs and see the results yourself? Yes bob you can put anything you want to in you car and test the results yourself. That is the great thing about having free choice. Maybe your car will run fine. Maybe it will run like shit. To keep thinking you are going to see a hp gain just from changing you plugs, well that is just plain stupid. However if you haven't changed your plugs since the 90's like you previously stated your butt dyno may notice a small differece with any type of new plug.

BPR6ES! They put those in there from the factory for a reason. Auto manufacturers dont put performance plugs in to make power they do it for emissions and economy. It just so happens the BPR6ES ends up being a great plug for everything. If you have a factory set up thats what id use. If you have a slightly bigger turbo go to the 7ES. For a street car those should be the only two plugs you'd want in a DSM.
