What do I get for the bumpers the little bottle or spray paint can and where to get factory color match for a 1g for cheap?

Should I be putting a clear coat on frst and is it critical to get paint specific to bumpers or would the body paint look good and hold up nice enough?

You can try a paint shop with the paint code and see if they will make it in a spray can. Clear is neccassary for longevity and glossyness....Auto paint is paint, but if your doing an entire plastic piece I highly reccommend "adhesion promoter". Sold in spray cans at oreillys for like $6. worth it.

*note that with it being old, the chances of matching are tuff. Dont be surprised if the bumpers make the rest of the car sad. Also for doing large areas like the whole bumper, spray can clear wont look very good. Unless you cake that stuff on, just enough so it wont run.

I'm only touching up a few small chips hear and there. A couple may be as big as 1/2- 1" in diameter but mostly smaller stuff and not much to do on either bumper.

Should be inside the hood on the plack or inside the driver's door. I know mine was on the inside of the hood.
Some shops have a machine to match the color of your car, so if your paint faded, it should match the faded paint.

Ok thanks but how much should I be expecting to pay for a tiny bottle of touch-up paint? Go to the mitsu dealer or order online somewhere?

* UPDATE

Just ordered the spray paint for my car and touch up paint pen. Didn't order clear coat but the spray paint is only beng used on parts of front bumper and wasn't sure if it's 100% necessary.

My question is if I decide I want to use clear coat afterall will any generic spray can from auto parts do? I'm not even sure what clear coat is, does it come out of the can clear and you use the same clear coat for any color paint :dunno:

Thanks was just going to ask again because applied the basecoat and looks like it needs clearcoat. Athough the flat finish look on front bumper doesn't look that bad probably will be trying some clearcoat on it.

Anybody else want to give their thoughts on buying clearcoat from walmart, autozone, etc as far as quality is concerned. My car ia a 1g with burgundy paint if that makes any difference.
