Black hood/headlights on a red Laser

There are massive amounts of rock chips in the front of my hood and top of my headlights so I have been thinking about getting it all re done. Instead of going with the red that is on it now I have been thinking about painting it black like the top of the roof.
Any opinions on weither I should paint it black or leave it factory red?

Anyone good at photo shop?

Ha, no way. The laser is for going to the cabin/my aunts/Shott17's which is all nice highway cruising or to the office since its 3miles away. I usually use the X3 for highway trips that include traffic and bad weather. Then the Talon is retired, but I usually take her to wegmans and drive her September till December 1st.

It is thicker than your average vinyl. I'd guess around a half mm in thickness. As far as hiding fender gap, etc., I don't think it would do the job all that well.

Hiding rock chips and scratches, I think it absolutely would. I would simply hit the hood with a red scotch bright pad to prep the surface and it will last for years without peeling. I think also as long as an adhesion promotor was used, you could lay a nice gloss clear-coat over it as well to give it further depth. Or just lay down the cash for a carbon fiber hood, but of course everything has it's downside.

Being that it is thicker than most vinyl, it can be tricky to apply, particularly the hood hump may add some difficulty, but it can be heated and stretched as well with a heat gun, just soak it down well with some lightly soapy water.
