Well been out for a lil over a year picked up #602 GVR4 that is stock for a hell of a deal so back in the game i am.

Went to start doing the basic thing's like OEM timing parts and stuff all good.

Go to autozone,advance and orailly auto's to order some spark lugs and such. NGK # 2023 BPR7ES they cant order them from any where. Was wondering if NGK did away with them or if it is just another part number now.

It says, "Replaced by part number 5534".

Betcha the old part was not RoHS-compliant, i.e. contained lead, cadmium, or some such nasty that the Eco-morons have a hissy over, and NGK changed the part composition. We're running into RoHS issues all the time at work- companies (especially w/ electronic components) are redesigning stuff or just stopping production 'cause the AlGore-Ons are making things that work just fine impossible to sell in some countries.
 
Actually thats exactly it. I remember when they did the switch the plugs looked different. All of a sudden they had a silver coating on them. There were posts everywhere about it at first, but once everyone realized there was no performance difference no one seemed to care lol.

I would, however, run the BR7ES. The "P" in the BPR7ES stands for Projected, and from what I have heard, the non-projected plugs work best in a turbo application, hence, the BR7ES, non-projected.

Since I am mostly stock, I am running the BR6ES with no ill effects, in fact. my idle feels smoother and in spite of the little boost leak I have, it still pulls very strong to 7k RPMs even with the 14b topping out at 6,300 or so.

So you just might give those a shot too. There are also some NGK plugs that can only be acquired from Japan and ordered online, and there is great success with those as well. I can't remember the ngk part number off the top of my head, but give the BR7's a shot first, then go from there. You'll be surprised with the results, I'm sure.

Okay thanks for the head ups was just wondering that would make since. Could not find any other thread about it so figured i would ask.Lol dont know why they make you click the link to get the new # lol but all is good. Was just wondering why the old number didnt work and the could not order any from them.

any one want to chime in on this is this true is it proven any one with a different opinion?
 
I cant say its been proven but I agree with the above statement.
 
I'm having a brain fart, which one is stock again the 6 or the 7?
 
The non protruding tip versions are better suited for higher boost application but will work fine for a stock setup as well.
