I've searched through tons of threads and I just can't find a definite answer. There seems to be a bunch of ebay catback exhausts such as this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995...Parts_Accessories&fits=Year:1995|Model:Eclipse|Submodel:GSX&hash=item43a099779d

that claim to fit both a 2g gsx and a gst. I have a 95 gsx and the exhaust pictured in this ad just doesn't look right. From what I've read they are different and it would make sense that one has to get around the rear axle and the gst doesn't have to, but could they really make one that does fit both? Maybe they are different pipes when stock but they were able to make an aftermarket one for both applications? Has anybody tried one of these "ebay turbo catback's"? Thanks.

the Tsudo N1 is a direct bolt on and alot of ppl have been doing that one and seems to have good reviews, u will get Chinese ppl on the phone when u call that know nothing about car its annoying
English mother fucker, DO YOU SPEAK IT?

Rule #7

NO TEXT SPEAK.

YOU is how it is spelled, it has 3 letters in it.

PEOPLE is not a 3 letter word, it is a 6 letter word, use them all.

Thank you for your cooperation.

With that aside, I have the one "that has the black evo in the back ground". I haven't actually put in on yet, but the welds on it look good and the hangers look like the should line up pretty well.

GST exhaust will not fit on a GSX and vice versa. There is a huge thread about Ebay exhausts on this very forum.

PS- Here is a video of the "exhaust with the black Evo in the background" that everyone keeps talking about. (It is from ebay seller: JapanImportShops...the one linked to in the previous post) While some people will still argue with you that you should get a quality namebrand exhaust, I along with numerous others, have never had an issue with this exhaust. I would not however, go with anything cheaper than the JapanImportShops catback.

Here is a video of the JapanImportShops exhaust on a 2g TSI AWD. On the GSX in the video, it is a Thermal R&D Catback.

There is a reason the Thermal R&D is more expensive, and you will hear why.

um yes i was making a statement, don't be soo up tight
Rule #7, you need to use the shift key as well.

Also, not uptight, reason for the Ed 209 picture.. you must not be a fan of Robocop.

There is also an edit button. Stop trying to raise your post count with useless posts.

Go with something you will know fits, search the forums for ebay usernames and find someone with experience with the exhaust they sell. Usually when you ask the ebay user yourself they have no idea what youre talking about, so dont trust them. Also look at youtube clips of ebay exhausts and maybe message the user to see which ebay user sells that particular one. That is, if you dont wanna shell out the cash for something really nice.

X2, I have that exhaust for my 2g awd. Fitment was perfect, and tone is really deep, not rattly at all. Good product for the money. Still running it for over a year now.

Thanks for the info and suggestions, that's very helpful. I'm not sure why they say some of those ebay turbo catbacks are compatible with both a gsx and gst but it is ebay and I figured if I contacted them they would just look at the same fitment guide that I was looking at. I guess I'd better go with what looks right in the picture. Then again "fit" is a pretty loose term. I could make anything fit with the right tools. I'm only looking to get a few more years out of this car anyways and any exhaust that isn't a fartcan is better than that rusty concoction of patched piping underneath my car now.

That exhaust pictured fits a GST. The GSX Exhaust is pretty much a straight through design.

This company might make both, but the one pictured is definitely for a GST. I've owned a GSX and GST and put exhaust on both. You cannot mistake the bends from for a GST exhaust. GST path routes over the rear driver side axle.

When I bought my first GST exhaust, looking at it, I thought it was the wrong exhaust because I had so many bends. Once you install it, you're amazed that it actually fits.
