Ok guys I sprayed my engine(95 eclipse rs non turbo) with degreaser and pressure washed it off ...prior to doing so I put plastic over all connections except the fuel pump relay....well I found out that fried..litteraly was sizzling while the car was off so I got a new one put it on along with new plugs, wires, and coil packs(dizzy) the car turns over and it feels so close to starting .....but its just won't .....p.s. I've checked each lead from the dizzy with a screwdriver and saw arc on all of them and I hear the fuel pump kicking on.....and when it does turnover sometimes it backfires at throttle body....HELP PLEASE!!!
 
a backfire would indicate that you are getting spark while the valve is open. My guess is something is shorted out. Maybe the cam position sensor or crank sensor. Perhaps maybe water got into the ecu, but i haven't seen that yet. Is there allot of water in the spark plug holes? Ive pressure washed over a 100 eclipse engines in cars and have never seen this happen before. But perhaps things where hit with high pressure water that should of not been who knows. Maybe this helps you some. A backfire would indicate spark at the wrong time.

Yes its has only backfired like 3 or 4 times.....and yes after I power washed it. I drove for the rest of that day ...parked it for the night and got up the next morning and wouldn't start...and check down the spark plug wells and there was water in all of them ...not a lot but the one closest to the timing belt had about a straw full of water in it.

If by codes you mean check engine light .....no...but if this helps like a month back my coolant temp gauge said it was overheating and the gauge would jump and react to the electric accessories ie. Headlights interior dome lights ...brake lights. And I changed both coolant temp sensors and that didn't work so I took one out and replaced it with an aftermarket gauge running straight to where the one sensor is under the thermostat housing

Well pretty much yea...one of the sensors under the thermostat housing I took off and stuffed it directly below in a little nook so the heat would be close for ecu purposes if any and ran the aftermarket gauge through the firewall over the valve cover and down under the T stat housing where the other sensor was.....as for the fans are ran to a switched 12v ....kinda a pain to keep hittin thoes switches at red lights haha
 
Sounds like you just have wet plug wires and boots, replace them or bake them in your oven on low with the door open for 20 mins or so to dry them out. Clean your grounds, the ones from the main harness to your firewall and any others that you can find, remove the bolts from them and sand under them with sandpaper and reinstall.
 
That has happened to me before with another car i had. I power washed the engine and it worked fine, but then it did not want to start. I let the car sit for about a day or two after everything was dry and it fired right up.
 
Whenever I wash the engine bay, I make sure that the engine is up to temp. I never wash a cold engine. It'll be hard to startup.

I also leave the engine running while washing and then immediately take it to the freeway, in hopes of drying everything off.
