I apologize in advance if there's a thread already about this, but I searched through multiple topics, online diagrams, and even my holy Chilton with no luck! I just bought a '90 TSI AWD manual trans a few weeks ago (my second DSM
) and she had a real dirty engine bay. I thought it was a leaky valve cover but while checking all the fluids realized I'm missing a bolt/vent/sensor on top of the transmission. I now believe THIS to be the source of my oil mess but dont know what to replace it with to seal it properly. The bolt is directly above the fill/check bolt labeled "OIL" and can be seen below the stock recirculation hose. I have a 98 Spyder GS but the trans is a little different and it appears to have some kind of sensor in that area. If someone could take a peek at their 1G and let me know I would appreciate it. As you can see the hole in question has a big shiny bolt in it right now as a temporary fix. Thanks!
