Well, after 2 weeks, I can finally say my car is officially "fixed". I had the auto shop put on a new alternator at no charge. While I was there, I also had them install a new timing belt, balance belt, timing belt tensioner and balance belt tensioner.
To make a long story short, they f&@ked up the balance belt install 3 times!! I kept telling them it was the balance belt, but they refused to believe me. I even gave them the factory service manual for my car as a guide ( I think I insulted them ;-) )
FINALLY, they got it right, but only to find out that my turbo oil return line was leaking. Again, not something that was broken when I went in there. But I refuse to let them ever touch my car again, so a did a little ghetto fix with some heater hose and new gaskets. I'll probably call Conicelli one of these days if it starts leaking again, but it seems to be holding up for now.
