I have a 94 Eagle Talon ES with a 4G63 and I don't care, but my dad complains that it's loud. Can someone back me up and tell my why they are loud or am I wrong?

You might have a hole in your exhaust or your muffler is no longer any good. A muffler is part of the exhaust that is used for reducing the amount of noise emitted by the engine. I would start there. Or as I saw in your other post you forgot to plug in your airflow sensor, maybe you forgot to reinstall the exhaust, or missed a section of it when putting it on?

I think you're missing a muffler called a Turbo. N/T DSM's stock exhaust for stock exhaust, or aftermarket for aftermarket are always a tad louder. The turbo does significantly muffle the sound.

Not only does the turbo muffle but also deepens the tone and that only gets better under load. There are exceptions, ewg is one of them.

My non turbo was rather quiet so I will agree with the rest that you either have a hole somewhere or forgot something or didnt tighten it down or blown gasket.... Something of that sort. Now if your running a turbo car with just a downpipe and a turndown off of a pte6262.... Well its rather loud

What I don't understand is how an engine can be loud? Exhaust can be loud.
