Up until yesterday, I knew three people selling socketed 90 EPROMS. :p They are out there.

Jim, I have a stock 1990 Turbo cluster if you want. It has 240K KMs on it, but you should be able to change everything to make it all Amerikkanized for you lol

And 16 PSI on a 14B on the stock N/T block? She took it all like a little whore, and loved every second of it :)
Just be careful, the sidemount easily heatsoaks. Look into a meduim size FMIC, it will help a lot. When you install a FMIC, the difference will be night and day.

As for the clutch, I had about 30,000 KMs on an Exedy OE clutch, it held up fine for the most part, until the end it started slipping until I blew it. I had the material rip out from the rivets.

I always drove the car hard though, there was no mercy. And I had drag radials on the fronts for most of it's life. Look into upgrading the clutch. A small turbo with 9:1 CR you should be roasting the front tire(s) way before the clutch slips.

PM me if you're interested for that cluster. Just pay shipping and it's yours.

Yea I deffinately want to do something about the intercooler. I'll see what I can find.

As for the cluster it's no big deal. I can do without. I like my 89k mile cluster.

And it will roast the tires easy but I don't want to hurt the trans too bad. Still a NT trans. So whe I do hammer it when warm the clutch will start to let loose in 3rd 4th and 5th. I'll see if. Can find a chea stage 2 and toss that in.

Overall the car is a beast though. Spools crazy quick and pulls like a raped ape. Had a Audi A4 running with me on the highway that didn't stand a chance.

2LiterRiceEater on here has experience with running 16lbs of boost on a 14B on his stock N/T engine reliably. Let him chime in on this, but I would say you'd be fine for 12-15 lbs. :D
I need to finish my fuel system but I'm running 12-14 psi on a 120k mile NA motor with a S372R and I know its making decent power even at that low of boost. I am using a 4g61 head on mine for higher compression and the car actually pulls/spools fairly quick. I have read a lot of threads about people saying do not put much boost in the NA motors due to ring gland spacing but I'm going to test it out soon :) I'm just amazed the stock clutch is holding!

Anyways... nice project and glad to see you stick with it! Way better than an escort huh?!?!

Been awhile since I stopped in on this build. The car is still running very strong. Haven't yet replaced the clutch but it drives me crazy I can't feel the complete thrill this thing can dish out. Just last week I installed a boost gauge to see what it is even pushing. I know it should have been my first thing but I figure the clutch can't handle the power anyway so the car hardly sees full load. So anyway the stock T25 WG is preset to 12 psi. thats what I am currently pushing and I see the full 12psi for about a second before the clutch lets loose. It will only hold about 5 which this car can spool a T25 up to in about 1 second.

Definitely a lot faster then my escort ever was and easily hands my friends mustang its ass. With a new clutch I'm fairly confident it will hang with his NA Cobra as well.

Awsome. Sounds like it holds up alot better than thought. Glad to hear, and interested to see what you can do with a better clutch and being able to use the power.

New clutch, and a tuner I say. After having ECMlink V3 in my AWD, I regret not spending the money and buying it for my old NA/T... If it's got a conservative tune, one can get quite a bit of power out of the 9:1 engine.

Clutch is ordered. Will be here Friday. Hopefully I can have it installed Friday as well. Went with a XTD Stage 3 6 puck thats sprung since I do DD this.

Today I also installed AWD calipers (dual piston) and rotors. Total cost through my shop was around $130 for the whole setup.

Thanks for watching.

Damn, you need to hook me up with a deal like that! Around here I couldn't do that upgrade brand new without forking out $300 or so.

^ What he said, I think when I did the duel piston caliper upgrade it cost me more than that. And thats not counting the disks! (course I went with some drilled/slotted rotors that I wish I hadn't now.. oh well)

Perks of working for Monroe Muffler/Brake.

I never saw a point to going the crossdrilled/slotted route. I had them on a few previous cars and HATED them. Noisy when braking, and warped, cracked, and did everything else a street car shouldn't do. So I'm sticking to solids.

Eh, I see nothing wrong with slotted but I wish they didn't have the drilled holes, just because I am worried about cracking, though I have put them though some torture a few times and no signs of cracking so far.

Oh well live and learn I suppose.

New update. Clutch came in yesterday. Installed it yesterday. Feels really good. I feel like I have to learn how to drive again cause the thing is very grabby and has a shudder during engagement. Assuming I'm not engaging quick enough. No biggie. But the things holds well and I'm actually pulling 13 psi.

Looks good man! Hopefully the springs stay in there :)

How does it feel to be able to put down all the power?
