Yes i've searched! haha

96 talon Tsi AWD

Little back story:
Car was driving perfect. I drove to my buddies house just fine. When i left the car was different. 3rd gear kept grinding and the gears where notchy. I got it home. And now the clutch wont disengage.

Things i've done to try to fix the issue:

Replaced trans, transfer case, and rear diff fluids (didnt really expect this to help, but i'd been wanting to do it anyways)
bled clutch hydraulics
adjusted clutch pedal per the directions on the youtube video

now in trying to do the clutch adjustment i noticed my slave cyl doesnt act the same way as the one in the video. When we pushed the slave in, it wouldnt come back out on its own. The clutch pedal would just go to the floor and take about 1.5 pumps to push the slave all the way back out.

what could cause this?

Also i'm trying to find out is if there is anything else i could be overlooking before i pull the transmission out to inspect it. And once i do, what suggestions do you all have for things to look for once i'm in there?

Thanks you in advance for any suggestions!

Bad slave or master cylinder.

^ You just jinxed me damn it lol.

I flush it so the debris doesn't mess up the remaining one. However I have found the slaves go out faster than masters. As far as I know AWD cars use a different one than the rest. You can find both sold as a combo on eBay if you decide to replace both.

I forgot to mention that the slave was replaced before I bled the system. I had found that the bleeder screw was stripped (by previous owner) and wouldn't get tight. I figured that was my issue. But it wasn't.

Could having a bad master cause the slave to not automatically extended like in the video? When we were trying to adjust the pedal we would push the slave in but it wouldn't come back out on it's own. We'd have to pump the pedal to make the slave come back out.

FYI I don't. Know what kind of clutch is in the car. I was told comp 6 puck, but that's vague. The pedal has always been pretty stiff. What's generally the best master cyl to go with for a car with a race style stiff clutch?

Based on the suggestions ive gotten i went ahead and ordered a new master cyl and a ss braided line from the master to the slave.

Once the parts come in I'll install them and report back.

Thanks for the help!!
