I don't know why everyone is assuming this is because it was an OEM composite.

No offense Dustin but it's not like you were putting down BIG numbers. This gasket should have performed fine. I would worry less about the gasket and more about why. Just saying.... Sorry to hear though man... I'll call for some late night phone sex maybe tomorrow...

Anytime I get knock I always back out. I have my CEL set to 3 counts of knock, or 1* of timing. I wasn't in the pedal going balls out when this happened. I was in partial boost...say 15psi as I was going uphill slightly on the highway and was passing someone.

Maybe one of my injectors took a shit?

Or your knock sensor is on the way out. Your CEL will only flash what the sensor picks up, and it looks like it should have been picking up quite a bit.

Knock sensor is damned near new. When Dustin got the engine the knock sensor had about 2000-2500 miles on it.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is there a way to check for block straightness without pulling the block? Obviously my house rulers aren't going to check what needs to be checked. I didn't see anything other than discoloration on the block where the head decided to fubar...although this doesn't mean something isn't 100% right.
