I've been searching for a parts car for my spyder awd swap, and I've really only found 2ga cars in my area. I've already bought a 97 trans and t-case because most rollers don't include them anyway.

Can I use a 95-96 parts car for my driveshaft and rear end, or do I have to use a 97-99?

I've been searching and really never found a definate answer.

Yes. All t-case output shafts are the same, and there's no difference between the 2g rear diffs. I have a 90 gearset in my trans with a 22 spline t-case and running a stock 95 driveshaft and rear diff.

Awesome. I figured they were all compatible, but I've learned the hard way too much on this car.

Really glad someone posted this question because Ive been pouring over as much google/VFAQ as I can stand. Looking to have my AWD complete by summer next year. Right now the focus is on getting my Spyder back to mint and reliable as a rock (which it practically is but im a perfectionist). Waiting on $1,600 of OEM stuff from JNZ; then she will be near mint and ready for the fun stuff. I hope there are a good amount of Syder guys to talk to on the forum because I feel were a dying breed sometimes.

Well if you ever have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'm fairly positive I've taken every single bolt and component that exists out of this car at some point. Only thing I can think of that I haven't taken out is the trunk lid, so if you have a question about that, you're fucked.

A local buddy just did the AWD swap on his spider. We both were real surprised at how easy it was.
His only problem was the gas tank cover. His spider had a metal gas tank. The AWD has a plastic tank with a metal cover on the bottom. The donor car was a rust bucket and the cover was not usable. Finding one in good shape is almost imposable. So he is left with making one from scratch.
I suggested taking the tank to a shop that does spray in bed liner and have a good thick layer sprayed on the bottom of it. He likes the idea but afraid it wont pass tech at the track. Got any ideas of what to do?

Oh snap! Guess who just found a 95 TSi 5 spd AWD for $1,300 & who's GST is at MVP Motorsports getting some serious work done =) Muhahahahaha

Anyway to know for sure if its has LSD other than the orange sticker on the door (or that might be Eclipse only I don't know)

The rear diff will say Viscous LSD above the BFG XXXX tag. A jack and a flashlight and you will be certain.

They check that stuff at your track?
The one i went to ages ago would make sure you had 4 wheels on the car and it wasnt dripping fluid.

The weather the way it has been we will soon see when the track opens.
He will probably only get one pass anyway. Before they throw him off the track for no roll bar.

Dam Spiders you can only go so fast before you lose the stock look.

The roll bar scares me too, haha. I bought another car on the cheaps, maybe if the spyder is too fast I can start build number 2!
