So I'll try to keep this short.

1996 Eagle Talon GS 2.0L MT 420a motor - bone stock with 145k on it and no major problems until this. Maintenance has been kept up to date for the most part as well.

My lower balljoint broke on me in my driveway. I replaced the balljoint/arm (all one assembly) in about an hour, no big deal. When I put it all back together and tried to move the car, the wouldn't go anywhere.

This is where I'm at

The clutch is working AFAIK - you can feel the clutch engage and disengage, as well as see the linkage working correctly

I can feel the transmission spin when I disengage the clutch and let the motor/tranny mate so it doesn't appear to be clutch/pressure plate related at all

All gears work just fine shifting into them

Everything appears to be working except getting the power to transfer from transmission to the drive shafts. I'm thinking it could be tranmission shears that lock the driveshafts to the tranny? I really don't know jack about transmissions so I'm at a loss. Calling around shops today as well but any help would be greatly appreciated.

i am not an expert on this, but i am curious about something. Is it possible that wen the ball joint broke (I'm assuming the car dropped on it) that it broke the insides of the cv joint and it is just spinning fee now?
