Im new to the site and have been reading all the rules and regulations. I haven't actually seen a reason behind the rules and regulations. Im basically on all the forums looking for parts and info on a build I am doing. I cant post on any build threads so there goes that idea. I cant look for parts that are for sale so there goes that idea. I just dont understand if there is any specific reasoning behind the rule of 50 post and being a member for 90 days, is this so a user just pays for membership so he/she doesnt have to wait? or is it just to make money? Im not talking trash just trying to find out whats the real deal.

This has been discussed in length before and it is not going to be changed. It is there for several reasons, one to detur spammers and scammers, another is because this site is a community and is not intended to be a place where people post their wares without ever participating in the site. It is a perk of hanging around, doing research before you buy, maybe giving a newbie some advice, protecting people who may buy a project that is actually over their head and encouraging people to give something to the community rather than just log in only when you want something from the site.

There are countless other places to buy/sell parts and if that is all you are interested in I suggest you try them, but here when someone posts an item for sale we generally know that person rather than it just being a screen name. Additionally the paid membership does NOT grand you access to the classifieds and is in place by the people who own the domain, but not the people that make the rules of the forum. All the paid membership does is remove adds basically.
