I stopped the trade. Had the "MINT" shell with parts looked at and it was all junk.

Car has 165117 Miles on it right now. I continue to drive this thing on long trips and still have yet to run into any issues. Thing fires up and drives anytime and goes any distance.

Only issue I would fix is the top, which could use a new one but is bearable.

Nice car, seems reliable. I can't believe you haven't sold this, man...

I figured it was only time before the top issues started bugging me.

Just ordered the arms that guide the floating rib. I will update the add when they are installed.

I am utterly surprised that you still have this. If you want to drop it off up here I'll give you beer, food, and a couch to crash on. Shit, I'd even throw in a 1ga awd shell.

Of course it does!

I remembered that I used SS valves in the head because they were a better deal than oem ones.

Red I saw your other posts, let me know what kind of figures $$ you are looking at and we can talk.
Other than it being a 6 bolt bottom end and the SS valves it is all stock.

Damn you! It's super tempting. The nice replacement tops are only about $300 with the glass rear window. I know you have some $$ and time into this but please KBB it for private sale. We'll go from there. Plus you'd have to pick me up from your local airport and put me up for a night if I come get this.

We'll certainly talk more. Need a little time to get some money together. I have to go dive for my precious metals I lost while boating. ;)

Not trying to cause a stir. Are you interested in trades? I know you're a bit of a drive from Michigan, but I just thought I'd ask. I'd consider trading my spec-v and maybe some cash monies on my end depending on how close in value both cars are. They seem pretty equal IMO. Other wise if you still have this after my spec sells I'd strongly consider this. Regardless GLWS. I'm shocked you still have this by the way!

Sorry I'll have to pass. Money from selling this is putting the drag car back on the track. :tat:

Today I replaced the broken arms that move the floating rib. Works like a charm now! :D

I just took 95 pictures of the exterior of the car in detail. If you would like them please message me.

I'll have detailed pictures of the interior and engine bay in the next couple day.

Just put fresh tread on it today. I drive too many miles in this thing!

Let me here someone say that about their dsm!

I am also currently working on a solution for the top leaks. I see many people say do this do that but no actual sound fix. But I will figure something out!

I know someone that used that spray can stuff off of television, they used in on the inside of the top so that its not visible, its flexable and they claim it has worked well, I even bought a can for $13 or whatever to use on mine because I am getting sick of the seats being soaked after it rains. I am just going to spend the $300 on a new top though, it would look nicer anyway.

Are you guys talking about how the rain magically gets in at the top corner and flings across the seat towards the middle of the car? Mine does that. Not a deal breaker since it's garaged, but very annoying when you're in traffic and its like fruit ninja in the car trying not to get wet.

It comes in on mine right around the drivers side in the front of the top and runs down both rear speakers onto the rear seat area and under the floor on both drivers and passenger seats on heavy storms, on a regular small rain its ok or as long as Im doing 55 mph or so in a heavy storm it wont leak until I stop and the rain is no longer moving over the top but instead saturating the material. What happens is that the top is no longer waterproof, instead of beading up it absorbes water like a shammy and then when it cant hold anymore and is fully soaked it starts to drip from the top onto the bows and then it runs down both sides of the bows and down the insides of the trim panels in the car.

If you pull the headliner back some on a sunny day you can see light through the weave in the top. These factory $3000 tops were crap, and only got crappier if the owner left it parked in the baking sun and never cleaned and re-waterproofed it once or twice a season. Bottom line: Underbuilt cloth top and lack of maintenance makes for a wet ride at least once a week in this part of the country, I dont drive it in the winter though, but I am sick of smelling the musty interior after getting back in it after it sits up. Another point of failure is the back glass that comes out of the glue/stitching and then the bag that hangs back there to recieve the top when its down also fills with water...ugh, bunch of nonsense.

Its funny because I had it at my local Mitsubishi dealership one day just checking on recalls etc (they were able to give me the whole cars history including the dealership that originally sold it, and the in service date, owners name, repair history etc) and I was chatting with the parts guy about the stupid seat getting wet and he said "oh yeah, every one of those things leaked from the factory from day one, biggest complaint with them"
