I just had my valve cover powder coated. I would like to use some sort of washer that will not scratch or screw up the finish. I went to the store and looked for some type of poly or rubber washers and found these metal washers with rubber backing made by Rustoleum. I'm going to perform a test by placing them on a hot metal surface at the same temp the valve cover reaches at operating temp. But just to make sure I was wondering if anyone used them?

I haven't used them, but if those don't work consider giving some nylon washers a try.

I have nylon ones for my cover, got them at lowes.

Those are what I had intended on purchasing but I couldn't find them. I Got these instead. I tested them and they can handle quite a bit of heat.

That how it is on stock honda vc ... I've seen these, seems to be sealing well.

I have had good luck with a nylon washer under a stainless washer. Get a few extra as they can deform over time.
