Nice score on the conquest. I keep seeing "finished" ones around here. They always want too much, and I can't see tearing down a sweet classic import to make a drag car. Probably for the best I guess. Get the PURP done dammit!

Thanks man, I couldnt pass it up for $650 it will be a fun project to get back on the road or 4g63 swap cant make up my mind yet. Its getting there a few more weekends of wrenching an it will be time to fire that beast up an take it for a stroll time is the key:tree:

Exactly it takes two weeks to get the smallest things done. Right now im trying to find a ASC sunroof replacement for the talon. :chair:

Update time! I was searching on craigslist the other day found a 92 GSX shell so I went to check it out.

Yeah it happens its part of the collection. Not sure what my plans are with it yet.

An on to the purple talon, wire harness time! This wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Harness is about 90% done just need to tuck a few things.

FMIC an bumper got painted.

Thats all I got for now. I was hoping to get more done the last week but the clutch in my impreza went out. Ill share a few pics took me an a buddy two hours to pull it pretty easy as this was my first subaru trans.

So im contemplating STI swap but thats another story...:dunno:

I got the wire harness all done then also did a harness for my gauges. I would post up a pics but it loos like wire wrapped in black tape. A few shots of the car

Since the clutch on my impreza when out getting it back together an runing is at the top of the todo list. I went with the STI swap orderd a front JDM clip an started the fun.

Good day Talk! I have finally brought my purple talon home so I can finish up all the small details an what not.

Its about time I got to park in the garage :chair: I would wake up in the wee hours of the night/morning and go down stairs to turn the light on an just look at it.

Time for some gauges, I went with depo racing 60mm gauges oil/water temp/boost an 52mm AEM wideband and a Defi EGT gauge

I need to get a inline fuse for the wide band an EGT. There just for looks now

My car came with a ASC sunroof if you don't know what this is its a upgraded sunroof that some dealerships offered. Sounds sweet right? Wrong finding parts for this thing was ridiculous! I found a guy in California that does have SOME parts for theses things kinda pricey, if you need that info feel free to PM.

I don't care for sunroofs, but that one isn't bad. I looked long and hard at a 2g roof to graft to a 1g, but I just didn't want to invest that kind of time.

Right I have owned the car for 6 years now an this is the first time it gets the garage. Not like it matters the clear coat is gone.

Im the same way I didn't want to mess with the sunroof at all, was going to put a piece of lexan in with some butterfly nuts an call it good. Some how I found another one in the local junk yard complete for $75. Then had to order a new track for the glass to ride on another $100. Plus four hours taking it all apart cleaing an greasing some spots then back together with new black cocking an drain tubes. What a pain I hope I never have to mess with it again.

A 2g sunroof in a 1g would be sweet but then again time is money.:tree:

Hey Dsmtalk im bringing this build thread back from the dead! I know I have been gone for way to long an have neglected my poor talon but work an life has been busy an had its ups an downs.

I have made a few change of plans on the car...
- sold the PTE 6252 and DNP manifold, I will be using a 20g an FP manifold
- swapped out the rear AFCO arms for Ingall arms
- I will be pulling the trans an pulling out the quartermaster twin disc

I swapped out the rear arms the other day, the trans will be pulled in the next week or so. Here's a few pics of how the car currently looks.

Hello every one! I had some free time the other day so my buddy JJ an I decided to pull the trans an clutch on my talon. I think im going to go with a Act 2600 pp an Act 4 puck disc with a Act light weight flywheel. Im still indeisiveness on what clutch an pp to use, any input on this subject would help aiming for 400-475hp. Any ways to the good stuff the pics.

I picked up some STI 17" BBS's a few weeks back for stupid cheap tossed one on to see if I like it.

I have to agree with you, I plan on keeping the black 18s on it for now.

I also have a small update on the talon. Since I sold my QM clutch set up I ordered a ACT extreme 2600 PP ACT 4 puck an ACT flywheel.

For now I plan on putting the talon on hold an focusing most of my free time on getting my 91 eclipse gst up an running.
