So I built a boost leak test and it seems to be the only spot where I'm getting pressure out is on the valve cover on the small stem left side. Is this normal or do I need to do something? I have a breather filter on it now from when I bought it I assumed it was right. Any ideas? Thanks:confused:

Picture? Sounds like your talking about the vent line on the side of the valve cover that should have a tube going to the intake.

If thats true, that line should not effect the boost as it sits in a place where no boost should be going though it. The boost runs from your turbo, to the intake manifold, where it gets dumped into the cylinder head below where that line is at.

Ive never felt having a cheap little air filter on that line was worth anything. Just looks I suppose. Your safer to run a line back to the intake like it was made with.

I will try and take a picture or maybe a video this weekend. But yes that is exactly what I'm talking about. When I put my boost leak tester on and pressurize it I had to hold my finger over the end of that breather after taking the little filter off because that's where it was comming out of. So any idea what that means if its not supposed to come out there?

No need for a picture then, Im not saying there is something wrong, that I can think of, when you pressurize the system it is a vent for the engine so you will likely have some air movement there.

What is your original problem, whats the reason your doing a boost leak test? For maintainence or you have a problem.

Just for maintenance to make sure everything's okay. It's not alot comming out I can hold it with my finger so not all the pressure is going to that spot. I just didn't know if it was normal or not because it was my first time doing a test. Thanks for your help

Not sure what that has to do with anything, but thanks, I guess. Also I see your newish, but you need to post correctly according to the rules, #7, to what I am inferring.

And why a name like hereinmissoula, while you post you live in billings... (little MT joke)
