When i got my Buschur UICP w/elbow, i ordered the throttle body gasket and bov gasket from the mitsu dealer...it was supposed to take a couple days to come in. Well, i went in to check on my parts today and now the guy tells me that the throttle body gasket is DISOUNTINUED!!! I already installed my UICP, i was originally going to just use the old gaskets until the new ones came in (i was too impatient!)...but, then the throttle body gasket was all old and dried, and when i took it off it broke into 3 pieces! So, i made one myself for temporary use out of some cardboard (which is like half the thickness of the real gasket)...Is there any place that has these gaskets or can you use a gasket from another year dsm??? Thanks.

Cardboard?? Definitely try a local autoparts store as they are sure to have it. If not then it is sure to be available in a gasket set (cylinder head) for your car. Those are expensive though.

Cardboard? next time try ductape that fixes everything j/k

Hey, i checked pep boys, trak auto, and a local auto parts store...NOBODY has it! The two guys working in the trak auto parts dept. are the ones that gave me the cardboard and told me to just make my own!!! it was only supposed to be temporary until the Mitsu dealer got the part...until i found out they don't have it anymore!

Are you serious???

Well, I went to ebay and got a gasket set from this one guy in like arizona... It's not OEM, but the kit was pretty good, had everything from the headgasket up. I wouldnt use the headgasket, only use OEM or better for something THAT important, but the throttle body, valve cover, intake, exhaust, and a few others all went right in, and no leaks, no more weeping valve cover :)

Try that out. It came to like $90 for me, but I had it shipped overnight.

I just bought one a month or so ago. I called my local dealer just now (I'm nice!) and he said that they were still available.

Call another dealer or Coniceilli or something.

that gasket isnt very complicated i doubt it would be hard to make one. get a sheet of rubber that is the same thickness and make a template out of cardboard from your old one then trace it on and cut it out with a razor blade. should only cost a couple bucks.
