and i'm sorry about vfaq.com..... i learned all kinds of useful stuff.. just didn't find what i was looking for....
This is exactly what I mean. Why did I build and write this webpage (with Marco) if people such as yourself can't find it or are unwilling to look more than past the end of their nose ( and yes it is under the
VFAQ's under the engine section. Its called 'Installing a 1G engine in a 2G')
1G to a 2G swap the Magnus Method
This isn't towards 97'talonTsiAWD but in general:
I wrote this list up for Marco after he did the first prototype 1G CAS swap with my engine. He had the car 3 months making sure it was a possibility and getting it to work right. I could have had done the RRE method in a month myself. I am not going to take the high road and say "I did it for all DSM'ers everywhere" but after I
DID THE RESEARCH and asked
THE RIGHT QUESTIONS. I believed there had to be a better way and if it makes easier for other people with blown engines then great, I feel like I contributed to this DSM community as a whole. But I don't see that same attitude in the newcomers to this board and it pisses me off.
I am not saying I am an elder or that I know everything. Far from it. But the people that really did know everything long since left this board exactly for this reason. And I will tell you, I know the VFAQ, DSM.org, this board and other like the back of my hand. I have searched so many times it would make you sick. But its because I want to know what makes my car tick. I am the one installing everything and I am the one making the choices so you are damn skippy I will know every bolt, weld, and nut on my cars. And I am still learning, everyday I ask myself a question and go find the answer.
It used to be people bought DSM's so they could do the work themselves and try new things and share them with other DSM'ers and still get awesome performance no matter if it was on the drag strip, the road course, or the auto-x course. Now it seems DSM's are just a performance way of getting into a fucking Honda club. I understand that new guys are joining all the time as the cars get cheaper and cheaper. But for christ sake, the car is now 12 years old. Don't you think SOMEONE in that time would have answered almost any question you might think to ask?
