hey, I've used search button but still couldn't get the exact info that I wanted to know.

Right now, having Blitz intake and stock BOV, when I let off the gas the BOV and spooling is very loud. When I replace that with the David Brode's UIP and 1st Gen BOV, would the sound stay the same or be louder?

What I'm really asking is whether or not the 1st Gen BOV sounds the "same" as 2nd Gen BOV, or would the 1st Gen BOV be more loud or less loud?

lol... break it up u 2..... my 2g was leaking so i went with the dave brode uic pipe and 1gbov.... i have mine venting to the atmosphere right now... runs a little rich but not bad..... it sounds a ton better to me.... cant hear anymore spooling at except around 2k just the airflow... i have injen intake tho... that makes a differences in sound....

even if your not boosting over 12 psi BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA we just replaced a kids bov because it wouldn't boost past 12 psi.......... bov leakedeverything past 12 lbs. he brought the car over we swapped the bov, and his boost shot up to a whopping 22........ time to crank it back down and give that poor t-toosmall a break.

To answer your question.... NO, it doesn't sound the same. a 1G BOV with an upper IC pipe and good K&N-style open filter will be louder and sound much cooler.

I'd pony up and get a real BOV, not a 1G one with 5 zillion uses already on it and having to "crush" it, or a $hitty plastic 2G leaker (probably why it was required to vent back into the intake ! haha)

I use the Blitz one myself, it's adjustable, sounds perfect. Not too highly pitched -- I can't stand that. IMHO, the GReddy Type S is too "chirpy". The Blitz one sounds more like a rally car's BOV. :D

I just can't understand how a 1g "crushed" BOV is really an upgrade. You can get an actual BOV for pretty cheap. I realize that a lot of these kits come with the stock 1g BOV, and that it's not the consumer's fault for purchasing an UIP with a BOV already on it, but it really isn't much of an upgrade if you think about it.

are you on crack? 1st gen. bov's can be had for 50 bucks, there isn't an aftermarket that can be had for less than twice that price. 1st gen bov is also fine for anyone that isn't running more than 18 lbs. or so which is the majority of the dsm contingent.

first of all, not trying to argue, but a 1g bov is an upgrade because it works better. I bought it because it works better, it is cheap, and i don't need anything more (i don't run high boost, i don't need a shinny chrome thing on my intake). As for the sound, it is louder and sounds better but there is not a huge difference in sound from a 1g to 2g. It sounds more aggressive when you shift at full boost but i think it is just because it is not leaking.

Well lets see. The 2g platic POS BOV can't hold more then 13psi and leaks boost all the time. It's preaty damm ineficient. The "Crushed 1g BOV" dosen't leak. can hold 24psi, and dosen't sound like a nasty sneezz like the 2g BOV does. It's as good most aftermarket BOVs, and only costs about $50 and even less if you can find one at your local junk yard. Sounds like a preaty good upgrade for the money to me.
