Last weekend I attempted to pull out my turbo in order to try to port a few MM's of material from the wastegate hole in order to stop my boost creep. I had everything unhooked on the turbo and was trying to pull it down when the damn thing wouldn't go. There was the one Turbine housing stud stuck in the exhaust manifold so I had to slide it downwards but then there was a motormount in between the two radiator fans that was keeping the turbo from going down too much further. I was getting so pissed. Someone tell me exactly how I get that turbo out of there.

I didn't I bought the car with the 16g on it. I checked out Vfaq and realized that they do mention about the stud. Apparently you have to remove it from the turbine housing as well while the turbo is just dangling there.

Just take out all of it in one piece. Disconect the water/oil lines, the down pipe and the manifold bolts and pull the whole thing out. If power steering gets in the way that that out too. You should have your turbo out in no more than 30minutes. You probably want to loosen the manifold bolts while its on the car as its easier.
