Just wondering what you people think as far as making a pressure tester which goes in the LIC instead of on the turbo. It'd surely have to speed things up as with the rubber lower intercooler pipe can come off after taking the clamp off, instead of taking off the MAS, UIC, and intake. The worst part about the conventional is if you are looking for a UIC leak, you have to pull the UIC inorder to get the conventional stlye pressure tester off. The only drawback of this new "improved" idea is that it won't test the turbo outlet elbow, which isn't a common leak anyway....

It also costs 23% of what it costs to make a conventional style pressure tester as the conventional requires the rubber boot (easy $).

Also wondering do 2Gs have 1.75" LIC?

Thanks for looking, all inputs are appreciated.

I don't understand the point. It takes basically 5 mins total if that to pull out hte rubber intake pipe. That is really all you need to pull, not the MAS or filter. You pop the thing on the compressor inlet and hook it up to a compressor. I don't see the real difficulty. I have used mine a total of 2 times, and really for the amount of times you'll use it you might as well just go all out and make it hook up to the turbo as well.

That's how I made mine. It's just a PVC end cap with a valve stem on it. Pop off the LIC hose, clamp it around the end cap and pressurize it.

Only drawback is that since the end cap isn't beaded, it'll pop out of the hose once there is enough pressure pushing on it.

If you did it as often as I do, you'd be looking for the easiest, fastest way to do it as well.

I must say I use mine often... I use it even when Im not feeling a leak... just too make sure.... and I have positively no problem just disconecting the rubber inlet pipe, pulling it out, putting on my tester, and hooking up a compressor.... if u hook it up to the compressor inlet and have the throttle plate open, u cover the whole intake system and eliminate any " guessing " when u feel u have a leak but cant find it.
